I love the Nolan flicks, but it's '89.

Returns has some gold in it too. I really enjoy Danny DeVito as the Penguin. He's almost unrecognizable and gets so into the role. He scared me as a kid.

"I played this stinking city like a harp from Hell!"

Love Batman 66. A great goofy romp with the big 4 villains of the show. The only issue I have with it is that Julie Newmar couldn't play Catwoman. Well that may be (I thought Eartha Kitt was far and away the best Catwoman on the 60s show), but you can't blame her for a film she didn't appear in. Now, Lee Meriwether on the other hand... Hey, I didn't mind Lee Meriwether. Just keep in mind, I first saw the movie about 12 years ago, after having seen around 35 episodes of the show(Thanks Sci-Fi for not advertising your marathons better! ). I was more used to Newmar, so it was just a bit of adjustment for me to see someone else playing the exact same character(I see no difference in how the two played the part, while Kitt certainly put her own spin on the character).

Torn between Dark Knight and Dark Knight Rises. Both excellent films with great villains that really felt like Batman films. I will credit Returns for having a great atmosphere, but just felt like a Burton film that had some Batman elements added into them.

I was just joking. I thought Lee Meriwether and Julie Newmar were more than fine and their sometimes less than stellar acting was actually benefitial to the campy charm of the show but, as you say, both were pretty much just playing generic femme fatales whereas Kitt was just so distinct and fun and (I'm sorry) purrrr-fect for the role.

Yeah, Eartha was definitely meant to play that part. Although I maintain that Julie Newmar's first appearance as Catwoman was one of the series' best two-parters.
