Vince originally wanted to do the Mighty Mouse deal with Chris Candido way back when they brought him in. I guess, it's true. Vince has this list of gimmicks he wants to do and he throws them at people until somebody agrees to do them or they don't have the balls to turn him down, which Candido did because he was sensitive about his size and didn't want to be the tough little guy. Figures, a 1940's cartoon character inspires a 2010's wrestler. Cultural relevancy, thy name is Vince. The Vaudevillans aren't exactly culturally relevant either. I'll have you know I'm color blind and only see things in black and white!

They're supposed to be out of touch loony heels who think they're extremely sophisticated. Them being out of touch makes sense. Trying to have a face to appeal aimed at kids where a lot of them's grandparents weren't born at the time the source material was running... doesn't.

Well, at least someone will come to save the day when Cena's friends are getting beat down by heels. And when its their turn for help....Big Surprise. Cenas nowhere to be found.

Let's hope that he doesn't snort cocaine like the real Mighty Mouse.

The logical part of me keeps reminding me that this is all rumour and conjecture at this point. But the rest of me is going "You remember all the times they've given established people shitty new gimmicks, it's going to happen again and they're going to f*** it up again."

... Putting him in a mask actually sounds awesome? Y'all make fun of his ears and most of you are fans of his, a mask get's rid of the ear problem.

Right but that's their gimmick that they came in with. Also it's what Gotch was doing pre-WWE, too. So that wasn't a stretch. Plus it plays to their strengths and interests outside of the ring. With this Mighty Mouse thing, it's taking a main event star and relegating/demoting him to a cartoon kids hero, and even then, TODAY's kids won't get it. It's mind-numbingly stupid. I stand by there is no possible way this actually happens and we're just distracting ourselves discussing it today because we don't care about our families.

I actually see the logic behind this.
He can go like f*** in the ring but doesn't have a marketable face to put it politely, so why not put the hot new high flier under a mask they can merchindise the shit out of? Especially seeing as Rey is on his way out
I don't necessarily think its a good idea, but understand the thinking

I can see a mask. My worry is the mouse part. If he has a mouse mask, he is totally f***ed.

I don't mind the mask or the idea that he could come in as a diminutive underdog who overcomes adversity, but just like others have said, it's child-oriented part of this that tickles me. This sounds like something Jacques Rougeau would book.
Give him a cool mask and character. COOL, energetic, relevant. Look for Mexican & Japanese masked men of the 90's for inspiration.

With those elvish ears, Neville is doomed, DOOMED I say, if they at any point use the word mouse to describe him. If they actually put him in a mouse mask they're either stupid or assholes. I still say he should have a gimmick that's somewhere between a Gremlin and a troll. He breaks everything he touches, and hides under bridges and eats goats and lost children.

At least we know from his podcast with Austin, Vince is not out of touch. Because, if not for that interview, I'd kinda think he is.
