No oooooooooooooooooooooo *catches breathe*oooooooooooooooooo! Could not stand him one bit. His version of Parker looked like he was ready to burst into tears in every scene. Just stick with Garfield, he was the best part of the new series imo.

Know what? I wouldn't mind Tobey coming back. If anything, since they're synching things in to fit into the MCU, and since there's still a chance of them working out some sort of deal to bring Spider-Man into said MCU, I really wouldn't mind an older Spider-Man to help get Marvel out of the whole "he has to be eternally early-20s at most and not have real jobs or, y'know, a wife" mentality. I'd like that, but I'd go further and give it to someone like Jake Gyllenhall; it'd be legitimately a fresh take, and hell since he almost took over for Tobey anyway..

Since Sony seems to be throwing shit at walls f*** it do a Spider-Verse movie and put Maguire and Garfield both in it as different versions of Peter Parker and cast someone new as Miles Morales.

How many more fresh starts does this franchise need?
Just do the obvious thing. Get rid of Peter Parker. Start an entirely new Spider-Man franchise from scratch, but make it about Miles Morales.

This would be perfectly fine with me. Like I said before, I'm one of the few that enjoyed Maguire and Garfield about the same.

Considering how incompetent Sony is, I'm not surprised that they want a reboot during a trilogy.

I was actually tossing this idea around in my head a couple of days ago. Use both the Maguire and Garfield versions of Pete, put Garfield in some scar make-up to play Kaine, cast someone as AU versions of Mile Morales and May Day Parker, have them all called together by Indy Daimonji to battle the multidimensional threat that is Judas Traveller. An entire running gag of the movie is all the other Spider-Men calling out Maguire on how screwed up his relationship with Mary Jane is. In the end some time travel happens and when Garfield returns to his home universe he discovers that Gwen Stacy is miraculously alive again. Hell if we really play our cards right the post-credit scene would be Coulson showing up at his door asking Garfield if he's ready to up his game yet. But no, please no fourth Raimi movie. I don't want another movie celebrating the Silver Age featuring awkward dialogue and romantic leads with no chemistry with one another.

Please, just sell the rights back to Disney/Marvel. Work out a deal where you get some of the backend on movies with Spider-Man for a certain number of years. This, a million times this!

Raimi sucks almost as much as TASM2. Keep him far away from it. Why is the Spiderman formula THAT hard to grasp? Only one movie got it right...and even that was ruined by it's sequel. I am guessing you mean SM2 --> SM3?

Jesus Christ, is it really that hard just to make a sequel of Amazing Spider-Man 2? No more ****ing reboots. Andrew Garfield is perfect as Spidey and there's so much you can do. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}Peter Parker recovering after Gwen Stacy's death, Venom, Black Cat, Green Goblin's return, the prima donna version of Mary Jane. YOU HAVE THE MATERIAL RIGHT THERE!!!!

As an aside, the Sony leaks show evidence of everything from a possible crossover deal with Marvel Studios, to reboot featuring the Sinister Six, to a reboot WITHOUT the Sinister Six, to a all-female led film (which they named "Glass Ceiling" for who knows what reason), to a goddamn Aunt May solo film, and now they want to bring Tobey and Sam Raimi back from the dead for Spider-Man 4 seven years after Spider-Man 3. In fact, it looks like Sony has looked into every possibility EXCEPT Miles Morales. I mean, shit, at this rate, we're gonna get news they were planning a Clone Wars movie before we get a hint they've even heard of Ultimate Spider-Man.

If they're gonna add Spidey to the MCU (and I'm still hoping it happens) get a new actor. IDK, I would just have a hard time buying that Spider-Man with his pretty well publicized events wouldn't have already been approached by SHIELD or Stark or someone. I like the idea of Peter Parker being a teenager in the MCU who lived through the events of Avengers 1 and hasn't gotten his powers yet.

Just crank out Spider-Man movies, and Batman and Superman while you're at it. I hate f***ing comics and comic books, I know all their origin stories even still. I don't want a morality play, I wanna see bad guys punched in the face. That's all you need.

Maybe when they think USM they think of that awful cartoon and want to block it out of their thoughts and memories too? "Glass Ceiling"? Is Triple H the villain in that?

Do Sony have the rights to make movies based on the Miles Morales version, or just the Peter Parker, main, 616-version of Spider-man? Or the Ultimate version of PP-Spidey, for that matter?

I've been reading Spider-Man since 1988. Enough with this Miles crap. I want to see the Spider-Man I grew up with...Peter Parker! There's no need for clones, multiple Spider Men or alternate versions of him. And really, if you're going to go with an alternate, people really want Miles? Use Miguel O'Hara if people are that hard on about alternates. That being said, I liked all 5 Spider Man movies just fine, some elements from the original 3 worked and some elements from ASM worked. I preferred Andrew and ASM 1 is my favorite of the 5.
