Okay, so I've recently gotten sucked into the huge world of reality cooking competition shows, and I only recently realized just how many there actually are. We gotta find out which one's best! I'm gonna have to go with Chopped because the episodes are short and sweet, plus you learn a lot about different ingredients and techniques with hardly any gimmicks. What say you, FAN?

Cutthroat Kitchen because I'm a dick. I know a lot of folks watch these shows for the entertainment factor, but I've been juggling the idea of going to culinary school and trying to get into the chef game, so I go more for the shows that are a bit more informative and less about the personalities and competition. Cutthroat Kitchen is like the ECW of food competition, Chopped is more the ROH, if you weel.

I also have to give a nod to Hell's Kitchen for being more about the dynamic of actually running a kitchen with a group of people. Things I like to understand better if I bite the bullet and do try and become a chef.

The original Iron Chef was great. After that, I like Masterchef and Cutthroat Kitchen. Hell's Kitchen wore off on me as it went on.

I'd take Kitchen Nightmares over all of these though.

Masterchef Junior is the best show on television.

Yeah, I had to go with the OG Iron Chef. Hell's Kitchen is good but it's on too frequently and I end up not being ready for another season. Chopped was good at first but got old.

While I do enjoy Hell Kitchen and Masterchef (Especially MC: Junior) like others my all time favorite has to be Iron Chef (Original).
It's similar to Puro in many aspects as being a little over the top but while still maintaining an air of dignity and seriousness...and Chairman Kaga will always be awesome.

Put me down for other... OG Iron Chef. This is the only answer. Period. Without OG Iron Chef, there IS no other cooking competition show.

Of the current ones, I like Top Chef the best. But I also enjoy the crap out of Hell's Kitchen because Ramsay is awesome.
But yes, original Iron Chef is the GOAT.

Any show that doesn't allow a chef to use 100$ of ingredients on a appetizer.
I'm a firm believer that any hack can salvage a dish out of the finest ingredients, but it takes true skill to make an amazing dish from a can of tuna, ritz crackers and an orange soda.
With that said, Chopped and Cutthroat Kitchen are my favorites. Iron Chef gets depressing when you see them take 1 oz of meat from a $900 fish and all they do with it is make a quarter cup of broth.

I'd take Kitchen Nightmares over all of these though. Nightmares is great. Awesome for "what not to do" in running a restaurant. It's probably my second favorite food show, but it's not a competition so I didn't include it.
