My Grandfather will likely soon be gone from this world I'm afraid. Just got back from The Hospital and he's had a colonoscopy earlier and its not good, not good at all.
Things are just bad all around as he was getting weaker and weaker and down to under 150 pounds and was taken to The Hospital this week. I knew he wasn't well but didn't think it was this bad. There's not much left to do now. I believe he knew he was getting sick and accepted he was going to die long ago. He was always good at hiding his emotions and what really went on. within as I can't recall him ever getting mad.
I've accepted that he's going to die, as he's 80+ years old and I've known him and have memories of him growing up. But My Dad isn't taking it well at all as he got into an argument with my sister over what's going on and told her on the phone to "Back the f*** off" and arguing at my grandmother and yelling and like nobody understands what he's going through. We all do and we hate it as well he's not the only one hurt, he nearly got into it today with my Aunt at The Hospital.
Just not much I can do now, just pray his last days will be peaceful and he goes without trouble.

I've lost all four grandparents, and it was never easy. I'm really sorry you're having to go through this, you and your family.

At least he got to see his great grandkids earlier last week, including the new one he never got the chance to see before. He's no longer responding to people, and they've given him morphine. Not much longer now I'm afraid as his body is shutting down with it. He's gone already basically, probably seated at a table with my other grandfather who passed away seven years ago wondering why we're all crying over him.

I am sorry for your loss. A death is something that families sometimes have a hard time dealing with as a unit. Its just a case of too many memories and emotions and people. But you will all pull through, believe me. As long as you hold the memory of him inside your heart he will never really be gone from your life.

My condolences. I know that he'll live on in your and your family's memory.
