Well I was watching RobtheWonderful latest video about The Little Prince and talked about the early days of Nickelodeon, and reminded of the old days before Nicktoons, they aired all sort of forign cartoons, as well as some synidcated stuff like Heaffcliff. But I really remember cartoons like The World Of David The Gnome, Grimm Fairy Tale Classics, the Noozles, Mystery Cities Of Gold, good times.
For those that are old enough to remember those cartoons, what were you favorites, what do you most remember. For me David The Gnome, Grimm Fairy Tale Classics, those are showe I remember watching all the time, Grimm Fairy Tale Classics and the Noozles they were my introduction to anime and long before I knew what anime was. There was an innocense when a cartoon was just a cartoon and you didn't divide into western cartoons and anime. Compared to what Nickelodeon is airing now (except for TMNT that is an excellent show, and Korra has ended so that doesn't count and it was off the network anyway) I can say they don't make shows like these anymore, at least they don't air them on Nickelodeon anymore.
So tell me some of your favorites, or just some memories. Here are some examples of the show I remember and remember fondly.

Screw the Noozles. The only Koala that mattered was Roobear (and maybe Laura).

I don't want to technical here, but that is not a cartoon, that is a puppet show, there is a difference.

It seemed like Nickelodeon up until 1987-88 or so was full of imported programming, be it from Japan (Besides the shows mentioned in the OP, there was also a little women anime which aired on there as well), England (Dangermouse, Count Duckula, Bannanaman), and especially (albiet live action shows) Canada (You cant do that on television, out of control, today's special).

Screw the Noozles. The only Koala that mattered was Roobear (and maybe Laura). I used to LOVE snow and fog days back when I was in school, because it meant I got to watch Adventures of the Little Koala. I recently rewatched nearly the whole series a few years ago, and surprisingly, it holds up very well. I used to like David the Gnome as well. Some of the Grimm's Fairy Tales I thought were even better than stuff that Disney has put out (maybe not so much in animation, but in storytelling). Not a cartoon, but I miss the hell out of Mr. Wizard too. He could kick Bill Nye's sorry ass.

I was a big fan of David the Gnome, Grimm's Fairy Tale Classics, and Danger Mouse. I was terrified of Bananaman, though, because he had the ends of a banana sticking out of his head, which to me looked like devil horns. So I was certain he was the actual, Biblical devil, and he was somehow using this cartoon show to trick me into eternal damnation. So I didn't watch it.
True story.

A cartoon that I continue to quote to this very day. Oh, and Grovel may or may not be related to Bender

I loved Noozles and the Little Koala. Any time I try to explain one of them now, people always think I'm talking about the other. Kind of interesting that Nickelodeon had two koala-themed cartoons at the same time.

Still surprises me that R.L Stine was a co-creator

I never watched Noozles except that it had a commercial for it on the VHS for a movie my family had. I can't remember which movie though.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Duckula start as a bad guy on Danger Mouse?

I loved Noozles and the Little Koala. Any time I try to explain one of them now, people always think I'm talking about the other. Kind of interesting that Nickelodeon had two koala-themed cartoons at the same time. Looking back at the eventual story arc for the Noozles, it seems pretty dark for a Nickelodeon show, let alone a Nick Jr. show. Also, it's interesting how many of the Looney Tune shorts Nickelodeon had the rights to had characters that nobody remembers now, whether it be Bosko, Buddy, or any of the late 60's output.

I found a couple of old Noozles episodes online, the two koalas are fine, but the voices for the main human girl and her friends, dam there acting was terrible. This type of phoning in acting wouldn't fly today at VIZ and Funimation.

I can't vouche for how many of these shows are on it, but if you're interested in old school Nickelodeon, check out Nick Reboot, available online or on Roku. There's a free stream and paid On Demand library.
