I drop it into conversation very early. It's a fun hobby. If they don't like it, f*** 'em. Much worse things I could be doing on the internet. Current girlfriend shares my laughs over photoshops.

Girlfriend: What are you typing? Andrew: I'm on that wrestling message board I go on all the time. It's about "topic x". Girlfriend: Ahh, ok.
I haven't told her some creepy stuff that goes on here yet, but it mostly hasn't come up. Though I guess if I said, some guy suggested someone else take advantage of this girl he wants to date when she's drunk", she'd be pretty perturbed that I post here.
Sometimes though when I'm typing she'll ask, and I'll respond, somebody is wrong on the internet. Like, legit, I say weird things sometimes, but that's one reason why she's dating me.

Yeah, I usually tell them after we start living together or if we spend enough time at each other's place that we're just hanging out doing nothing and I get online.
Generally they don't care. Most people won't. I can assure you that as "embarassing" as this is in your mind, its just normal hobby stuff to other people. I mean, when you see someone watching reality tv on the reg, talking on a wrestling message seems way less dorky by comparison to me.

The wife knows I post on a wrestling forum. I wouldn't disclose that information to a girl I liked though.

I've mentioned that I write for the site, she thinks it's cool, but there are definitely aspects of the boards that I wouldn't show her. So much of this place would be considered weird to an outsider.

People's real-life conversations are/can be much dirtier or stranger than stuff that goes on here.

Before we were together (we were platonic friends for years prior), I kind of just avoided mentioning anything about liking wrestling at all. Not for being embarrassed, just that he never hinted at liking it so it seemed irrelevant. Then one night we were chatting online as I was catching up on some NXT, he asked what I was doing. I told him, he replied "oh, so you like wrestling, huh?" That convo lead to him remembering how much he liked a good wrestling promo as a kid, so he started getting back into the 'E . By the time we were official and I moved in, he had already established himself on a different wrestling forum anyway.
