I don't think I've seen this thread, yet.
What are your top (insert number here) games of the year (Not counting remakes, HD remasters, etc.)? As I was making my list, I realised this year has been pretty average. Even my number one pick I have issues with. But then, I don't have a PS4/XBone/Wii U, yet.
Anyway, here's my list:
10. Ultra Street Fighter IV
Same old, same old, but playing Poison and Rolento was fun.
9. Final Fantasy XIV
Never played an MMO before, but this was fun for a while, but I got bored fairly quickly. Maybe MMOs aren't for me.
8. 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil
Really, though, I enjoyed this game a lot.
7. Tomodachi Life
Funny and cute, but not much to it.
6. Destiny
Addicting at first, but got old.
5. Dark Souls II
Just another Dark Souls game. Not much to say, other than I regret selling it.
4. Tales of Xillia 2
I really liked the first game, and this was more of the same. The battle system was just as fun and flashy, and I didn't mind paying off the debt like most reviewers did.
3. South Park: The Stick of Truth
Hilarious. The gameplay was actually pretty good, too.
2. Final Fantasy XIII: Lightning Returns
The story still makes no sense, and Lightning has even less personality... but the battle system was fun, the time limit I thought made the game more exciting, and Lumina. Probably the best in the trilogy, not that that's saying much.
1. Dragon Age: Inquisition
I enjoyed this game a lot, but I have some issues. The graphics were horrible on PS3, gaining power so I could move on with the story was tedious at times, and I really missed being able to intricately set my character's tactics. Origins is still the best.
I am currently playing Guilty Gear and Persona Q, though, so they would probably end up on here eventually.
Worst game: Soul Calibur: Lost Swords.
It was free, and I still feel I got ripped off.
