I must be the only one who doesn't care. . I like new Trip and Steph. Also I love Seth as their son in the equation. I do agree I'm not really excited about Maskless Dull Kane or Big Show as their other headliners. Give me Harper as their wildcard and a good upcoming team to bring them the tag titles.

Because what wrestling needs in 2015 is a heel faction running the show!
I hope something happens to revoke this soon because I cant cope with the never-ending in ring promos and the prospect of even more Kane and Big Show on my screen.

I have no problem with the Authority being back as that was the most interesting Stephanie and HHH had been in awhile.

Heel authority figure(s) is the laziest of lazy booking.

Heel authority figure(s) is the laziest of lazy booking. I'd say it's better than the classic feud-writing tactic of, "These two guys face each other every week for months," but that's about it.

Eh, I hear you. But the EVVVVIIIILLLL boss has been done over a 15+ year span with only a small number of variations. Making it worse is that the Authority storyline has been about 80% them running roughshot, with the face side getting only small revenge here and there. Ok, let's say Sting does wrestle H at Wrestlemania. Well, great. Sting wins, HHH comes out the next night angry and looking for revenge, and we're back at square one. We all knew they'd be back, but couldn't their abscence have been longer than 4 weeks?

I think one way they could've handled it was to have the Authority be re-instead, but Rollins' attack being stopped abruptly by the sound of a crow cawing, then the lights going out. After a few moments, Seth and pals are all out, while Cena, Edge, and Christian recover. It would be implied that Sting beat Rollins up. You wouldn't need to even have Sting be there in person.

I swear, if this does not culminate in Beth Phoenix doing a run in on Rollins then this was all a waste of time.
A waste!

If the WWE "creative team" wants to create riveting and a coherent storyline they'd use this as a means to plant seeds for a Cena heel turn. I know, I know "It'll never happen", "Keep dreaming", and "Let it go". I understand those sentiments, however, the story is there as Seth has been the only wrestler to really break Cena.
Cena actually gave up. The whole Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect along with Never Quitting has become hogwash now. Seth forced Cena to quit for once. That to me is something they could utilize by having guys like Ziggler, Bryan, Reigns, and even Ambrose start questioning him, turning away from him, and use it to build the ever growing mistrust of Cena.
You have the faces turning their back on Cena and leaving him as loner, heels could be taunting him and thanking him for bringing back their meal ticket. The writing is there, the potential is there, all it takes is some effort and consistency.

To debut an icon who, in WWE canon, had not appeared on TV in over 13 years?

Bryan's return should have main evented RAW. It would have allowed WWE to end the year on a high rather than the soul crushing disappointment it will end on.
That way, the message Bryan was sending would be "yeah, the Authority are back......but so am I"

That way, the message Bryan was sending would be "yeah, the Authority are back......but so am I" I would've had the Authority stuff be the marquee angle that bridges Hour Two and Hour Three, then end with the Bryan announcement. Maybe even have him fend off the Authority trying to ruin the moment... with a little help from his friends.

Kind of a weird thing to have two years straight of the final Raw in the year ending on such down notes.

You know why McMahon vs. Austin worked the "evil authority figure" storyline so well? Because in real life, Vince actually couldn't afford to fire Austin; the entire premise was "WCW has been kicking my ass in the ratings, Austin's my meal ticket back to the top, but I want him to fall in line with my corporate vision". That dynamic doesn't exist anymore; as others said before, what's to stop current evil authority figures in the WWE from just taking two guys they don't like, pitting them against one another in a one minute match where if the time runs out both guys are fired, and moving on from there? "Oh, but the fans like so-and-so"...well, the fans have proven over the years they'll watch whatever you show them, and WWE has no major competition in the US. So the whole reason McMahon's character worked is out the window.
Anyway, I think the only way this works is if there's a big return party for Trips' group, Lesnar and Heyman arrive like they're going to celebrate...and then Heyman has Lesnar destroy everybody in the ring. Not a face turn, mind you, but let Heyman show that, so long as he has Brock, he has the ultimate trump card, and Trips and Steph are expendable. He can spare Rollins, since it seems clear Heyman wants to maintain a decent relationship with a guy he feels might be champ soon. Go into Wrestlemania with Heyman and Lesnar as the big bads in WWE.
