He better f***ing beat Rusev.. Rusev may be my favorite active wrestler, and Ryback is on the short list of guys I actually would be totally fine with beating Rusev.

Funny that they actually decided to point out that he was on Tough Enough. And officially state that he was Skip Sheffield instead of kinda half mentioning he was in the Nexus They should have been mentioning it from the start. At least then he would have looked like a veteran who paid his dues rather than a youngster getting hotshotted up the card.

In Nexus, sure, powerhouse, scary dude, but with the cowboy hat and being the Cornfed Colossus, I'll say this: I've read plenty of posts by you, CageKing, Patti Mayonnaise, the gay community threads, the unnecessary censorship photoshop threads with naked JBL, and Skip is still possibly the most homoerotic thing I have ever seen on this board. To the extent where it was just some given he'd be the fabled "Serious Gay Wrestler" without it even being questioned if he was even actually gay.

Cornfed Colossus was Festus. Neither should be confused with Mister Pigwell, the glorious leader

Funny that they actually decided to point out that he was on Tough Enough. Funnier still that you can see Miz and Puder(the eventual winner) in there too. Oh, and hi Al Snow, how are you doing?

When he mentioned The Secret changing his life, I thought he was going to start pitching us a Multi-Level-Marketing scheme.
But yeah, all in all, loved the segment and we need to see more of this from other talents.

Rusev is really good in the ring, and I think it kinda goes unoticed. Call me crazy, but I actually think Rusev/Ryback can have a good match if booked right

Just watching that promo, I think it serves as a major contrast to the Cesaro one. It was two guys who have long been needing kind of a redemption just given the chance to go off a bit and Ryback had a disinterested crowd that he turned around by the end of it, and even with some flubs managed to smooth them over and still sound natural doing it, while Cesaro had the crowd popping at first and it just died out as he went out while he wasn't really able to smooth over screwing up his lines.

With that one promo he made all of Punk's allegations against him look like bullshit. To be fair even in the Podcast it didn't sound like Punk hated Ryback It didn't? That's pretty much 100% the vibe I got.

When he started talking about overcoming negative thinking I was seriously thinking/hoping Bo Dallas was going to come out as his new manager/life coach.

I meant more in the "damn him to hell" sense, it sounded more like he believes Ryback had it out for him and was pissed off. I mean intentional or not, I would be too, the man injured him badly twice

I saw that there was some minor criticism on his promo because of him mentioning 'The Secret' and I actually thought it added to the overall emotion behind his speech. I mean he's supposed to be this big, tough, untouchable WWE main-eventer. Why in the world is he reading a cheesy self-help guide designed for average, gullible schmucks like me and you? But then I realized it all blended in perfectly with the overall premise of his promo. He shared with us his weaknesses, insecurities, and vulnerabilities and had no shame in doing so. He's not this picture-perfect badass like John Cena, Sheamus, HHH, Orton, etc..guys who could never let their guard down and expose themselves as mere mortals. To me that actually made him look more confident and believable than the other guys mentioned and it really makes me want to see him conquer Rusev and share that moment with him because in a way it would also feel like my moment as well.
In short, go BIG GUY!

The only thing I would have changed was mentioning that book as it just took me out of it. I have no problem with Ryan Reeves reading that book and turning his life around. Good on him for that in fact. That said....
This is like finding out the 1985 Road Warriors were sitting backstage reading Chicken Soup for the soul, or that Taz in ECW in 97 had Tony Robbins on his walkman before each match.... It just clashes a wee a bit IMO.

Watching that promo right now, biggest thing I'm noticing so far is that I'm angry at that crowd. I honestly am all for people chanting whatever they want. Chant for JBL during a match if you will. But don't "what" when a guy is talking about depression, that just makes you look like a douche.
EDIT:
Glad the crowd stopped doing that just a bit into the promo though, that's nice.
EDIT 2:
That was a f***ing awesome promo and he better beat Rusev.

Cut a 'life story' promo if it helps but it seemed to be "I have this scar and once got cut from the show...so Rusev I'm coming after you." - e.g not much relation to the promo and the feud. It just seemed really out of place.
