She was the 1st actor to win consecutive Oscars. Now Tom Hanks is the only living actor to hold that distinction.
And after those 2 Oscars, she basically called it quits. She was worn out from acting. She did another movie in the '40s, but wouldn't appear in another film for 50+ years (1997) and then that was it.

Damn fine actress, did a great job in both The Great Ziegfeld as well as The Good Earth (although it would be classified as yellowface now, the role was at least dignified).
Ziegfeld was actually an extremely underrated movie bogged down by a useless musical in the middle. If you took that out, you'd probably have a much more memorable picture.

Sometimes I feel damn old and how short time is but think about this, she was 8 years old when WW1 ended and 29 years old when WW2 begun. That's older then me right now. Anywho RIP and judging by some of her photo's of how she looked when was 100 years old, she lived a damn good life!

I've seen her in The Great Ziegfeld and she was good in it. That's really all I knew her from. Glad she got to live a full life.
