I'll be turning 30 later this year and I'll admit I often have moments where I stop and say "Wow...is this really so old already?". I had an example of this just the other night, GoldenEye was on the TV and it dawned on me that the movie is almost twenty years old now. I can remember the buzz surrounding this film when it was released and I remember being in a shop and hearing the Tina Turner song from the movie being played on the radio for the first time just like it happened yesterday. and to think that for a teenager today the 80s and 90s that I remember so well are just far off olden days like the 60s and 70s were to me when I was that age It doesn't depress me though, I choose to flip what could be a negative into a positive and consider myself fortunate that I've lived the years I have done and that I've collected many memories from them. I wouldn't swap my childhood in the 80s and 90s for the opportunity to live it again as a child today. I'm glad I was a 80s/90s kid!

Yeah, still don't remember 1995 fondly. It was a steaming shit-pile for rock music.... granted, I was at the mercy of MTV.. but I remember really struggling for something new to listen to. I can really only think of White Zombie's "Astro Creep 2000" in rotation for me.... Agreed, 1995 did suck compared to 1994. I remember thinking it was a terrible year. All I took from it was: Filter - Short Bus Nine Inch Nails - Further Down the Spiral Primus - Tales from the Punchbowl the Tea Party - Splendor Solis White Zombie - Astro Creep 2000 But in the years since 1995 I've discovered (or found a new love for Filth Pig which I didn't like for years): Alice in Chains - s/t At the Gates - Slaughter of the Soul Clutch - s/t Darkthrone - Panzerfaust Deftones - Adrenaline Deicide – Once Upon the Cross Dissection – Storm of the Light’s Bane Down – Nola Faith No More - King For A Day, Fool For A Lifetime Fear Factory - Demanufacture Kittens - Tiger Comet Kyuss - …And The Circus Leaves Town Meshuggah - Destroy Erase Improve Ministry - Filth Pig Monster Magnet - Dopes To Infinity Mr. Bungle - Disco Volante My Dying Bride - The Angel and The Dark River Old - Formula the Smashing Pumpkins - Mellon Collie And the Infinite Sadness Sonic Youth – Washing Machine Strapping Young Lad - Heavy As A Really Heavy Thing Suffocation – Pierced from Within Ulver - Kveldssanger Six of these (At the Gates, Dissection, Kittens, Kyuss, Mr. Bungle and Sonic Youth) all made it into a top one hundred albums of all-time list I made this past fall. 1994 (which I've always considered one of the greatest years in music) only had eight albums in my top one hundred. 1995 didn't seem that great at the time but in hindsight it wasn't too bad.

Oh yeah, in later years I've found a LOT of albums and bands I completely missed out on, or just weren't ready for yet. That's true for most years, though. I've gotten to a point where I don't even look back on albums of the year anymore, because I'm looking into entire genres and backlogs of bands I find along the way... so chances are, the album I like most isn't the most recent.

31 in March. All I can say is I've got positive nostalgia memories of my childhood so it's sad but interesting to look back but at least those are fond memories. 2000-2014 has been a big pile of shit save for a few years and getting older sucks.

Fantasy is still one of my favorite videos I don't know if I would go that far, but Aldo Nova is still pretty cool.

Youtube was not working for me for a spell, so I just now was able to watch the video. Here is my in-depth analysis (because you know you wanted it):
30) Oasis - Champaign Supernova I loved the song when it came out. I still feel it holds up. 29) The Cranberries - Ode to my Family I really never caught this one when it came out. It is not as good as Linger or Zombie. 28) Weazer - Buddy Holly This is more like it. This was one of the songs I listened to a lot. Like all Weazer songs, it never gets old. 27) Gin Blossoms - Till I hear it from you I did not mind the song. I must admit that I thought it was a little older. Can't say that I would go out of my way to listen to it, but I would not change the channel just because it comes on. 26) Shania Twain - Any Man of Mine I loved this video SOOOOOO much. I watched it on mute, however. I don't mind country music, so long as it is GOOD country music. 25) Real McCoy - Another Night Well, my wife (then girlfriend) liked it, so I heard it far more often then I would care for. 24) The Pretenders - I'll Stand by You It's okay. I like their older stuff better. I had no idea that they had a hit so recently. 23) The Rembrants - I'll be there for you Thanks to Friends it is a song that will never go away and will earn royalty checks for the band until they are old men. Fortunately, it is a decent song. It's not the best TV theme song from the 90's (both Buffy and Highlander had that beat), but it was better than pretty much the rest. 22) TLC - Creep This album was the first gift I ever got my wife. She was pretty pleased about it. She also played it a lot when we came home from dates. Needless to say, just hearing this song stirs me in deep ways. 21) Bruce Springstein - Secret Garden This is another song that makes me think longingly of my wife. We tried to watch Jerry Maguire several times before we were able to finish the whole thing. What can I say? We were young and in love. 20) All 4 One - I Can Love You Like That I recognize that they were great singers, but the song isn't my cup of tea. 19) Bon Jovi - This Ain't a Love Song I call bullshit on this one. I like Bon Jovi just fine and don't mind the other song being on the list, but how is this on the list and Bullet with Butterfly Wings not show up at all? 18) Bryan Adams - Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman This song, however, I love. Bryan Adams is awesome and I will fight anyone who says otherwise. 17) Fool's Garden - Lemon Tree I have never heard this song before in my life. 16) Ice Mc - It's a Rainy Day I have never heard this one either. Am I getting trolled? 15) Mariah Carey - Fantasy I rarely get into Mariah Carey's songs, but many of her videos are worth watching (especially if they involve her riding a roller coaster). 14) Michael Jackson - You Are Not Alone By the time this had come out too many rumors about his possible predilections for young boys had gotten around for me to enjoy this song. There are few songs by him now that I do not envision his singing to a 8 year old boy, and this one is no different. 13) Scatman John - Scatman Meh. It's okay. Why did someone place it so high on this list? 12) Sheryl Crow - All I Wanna Do I liked the song fine enough. I did think she was rather attractive as well. I would swear that this song came out before 1995 though. 11) TLC - Waterfalls See entry for Creep. I liked Creep better, mind you. 10) Bon Jovi - Always I was happy to see at least one hair band make a successful transition to adult contemporary band. This song was decent enough, though I don't think it was the 10th best song of the year. 9) Edwyn Collins - A Girl Like You This is a pretty good song. Has he done anything else since then? 8) Coolio - Gangsta's Paradise This song was pretty mindblowing for me. It still holds up. 7) Green Day - When I Come Around Like any other Green Day song - It's okay. 6) Madonna - Take a Bow You know what? Over the years Madonna has had some AMAZING songs. I really like this one. 5) Seal - Kiss From a Rose It is still a great song. 4) Michael and Janet Jackson - Scream See my earlier entry on Michael. I just cannot pay attention to the music. 3) Take That - Back for Good I don't care about this song. I just find it astounding that the immensely entertaining Robbie Williams was once in a boy band. 2) Shaggy ft Rayvon - In the Summertime OK, now I am sure I am being trolled. This song sucks. His other song from that year, Bombastic, did not. 1) Alanis Morrisette - You Outta Know Wait, 1995 is when this dropped? How in the hell is this the only entry in this list??!!

Arctic Monkeys released their first single 10 years ago this year. They are rock veterans now. Scary.

Thanks. I started feeling old when people I know started getting pregnant on purpose. Being able to remember things from 20+ years ago doesn't help.

Just wait until you too can post 32 year old videos that you remember clearly (BTW, wasn't that Aldo Nova video about the most 80's video ever, especially at the beginning?)

I started kindergarten after moving from Regina to Calgary. Yeah I feel old now. Hadn't discovered music at this point so I don't remember these being hits but most of them were still being played a couple years later when I did.

Wasn't your first album you bought on those beeswax cylinders you had to crank? This would be the music of my youth, I hated every last song, but You Oughta Know. Jagged Little Pill is a damn good album.

The video in the original post had to be from Europe. For starters, I've never heard of that Shaggy song.
Now this was also played to death that year:
