Watched this film for the first time earlier on today and I was stunned to discover how almost identical it is to the first Die Hard film except in an airport. I still enjoyed Bruce Willis as John McClane but I never really got too much of his desperation like I did in the first film, although I do like how McClane swears all over the place like how a normal person would in that kind of situation.
I didn't realise that William Sadler was the villain until I looked up the cast on Wikipedia beforehand, as I'd only known him from his role as President Ellis in Iron Man 3 so that was pretty cool to see.

I didn't think it was on par with the original or Vengeance, but I still enjoyed it.
Plus the TBS cut is all kinds of hilarious.

I love Die Hard 2. It gets so much unfair flack that it makes me sad.

I love Die Hard 2. It gets so much unfair flack that it makes me sad. Having just finished watching it I can say it's definitely an enjoyable movie to watch albeit taking place in a far less interesting location (the airport might raise the stakes but it doesn't have the easily recognisable areas of the Nakatomi building) and certainly not as memorable a villain like Hans Gruber was. While I did notice the similarities to the first Die Hard, at least the film is aware of that with McClane's comment in the ventilation shaft and John and Holly's conversation at the end. But overall, it's not even a terrible movie like I'd been led to believe but it happens to be a bit too much like the first one to really stand out.

It's fun.
It's certainly not as good as the first, but the amp stuff up to such over the top levels that it's a good time.

My third favorite die hard movie. I love all die hard films but the fifth one. f*** that movie As much as the fourth film gets flack, I still like that movie. However, it's embarrassing to admit that I enjoyed the fifth film when I saw it in theaters but then I looked back and realized how bad that movie truly was. I didn't even want to buy it to add to my collection. I have one through four.

It actually followed the Die Hard Template and progression unlike the 5th one! f*** THAT MOVIE!

Die Hard 2 took a novel that is rather blah and turned it into a solid movie, so I have on qualms on it. That daggone icicle, though. Good golly, I didn't see that coming when I was younger.
And, yeah, Die Hard 5 was the type of brainless, worthless cash-grab that Kevin Smith kept insisting that Bruce powerhoused people on the set of Part 4 to avoid making. Guess he got tired.

While not as good as the first or third, it's still pretty awesome. I love the ending especially.
Those last two movies with Bald McClane can suck a bag of dicks though.

Like many with the Star Wars prequels, I do not acknowledge the existence of Die Hards #4 and #5 unless its mentioned in threads like this. Granted I haven't seen #4 in a very long time so I may rewatch and see if my opinion changes. I haven't entertained #5 at all.

I like the first one by far the best, but in a lot of ways, I like this more than Vengeance.
4 is dumb but mostly harmless. 5 is pure shit and even filmed poorly.
