It is a hypothetical and to even think this might ever happen is silly. My goal was only to see how willing the base hardcore audience would be to something LIKE this an alternative\replacement for WWE in their viewing habits.
I do not know why I am being this defensive over being called silly. I was half expecting far worse.

That's why I want to know why that guy thought it was silly.

I'd love to give New Japan a chance over WWE at this stage.

I found amusing this idea that there are some guys who watch raw not because they enjoy it, but because they had nothing else to do and they just HAD to watch it, and only if the migthy king of sports NJPW aired at the same time that raw they could avoid this torture that is way worse than anything that the spanish inquisition has ever come up.
Which will be funnier in japan are guys who enjoy more The WWE than NJPW just because they are sick of Tanahashi always winning and how they didnt let Ibushi and Okada grab the brass ring in the biggest event of the year

New Japan if they had more American wrestlers and if JR would be on commentary.

The very people who are sending folks into uncontrollable nerdgasms would rather watch Raw than their own company.

Don't let WK9 fool you, NJPW cards are 90% tag matches.

There is one particular woman who I follow for some reason on Twitter who is incredibly obsessed and annoying as f*** about New Japan. I've also seen some recent New Japan and I do not find the quality to be any better than the good stuff WWE and NXT are putting out.
I do not get the uncontrollable nerdgasms as Bad News described it above.

New Japan if they had more American wrestlers and if JR would be on commentary. AJ Styles Adam Cole Alex Shelley Karl Anderson Doc Gallows Kyle O'Reilly Kenny Omega Shelton Benjamin Jeff Jarrett Chase Owens Davey Boy Smith Jr Bobby Fish Michael Bennett Matt Jackson Vance Archer Rob Conway Not sure if all of these guys are american but that's a decent amount for a foreign promotion. Especially when you compare it to WWE who have 1 Japanese guy who's not on the main roster and no hispanic guys that aren't complete jokes.

I am shocked at the results of this poll. Its a pleasant surprise, yet a surprise nonetheless. At least initially id watch NJPW live and catch RAW later, but the more honest statement would be id watch whichever was 'hotter' live and catch the other later. I was never much of a WCW fan but I watched Nitro on tape every week.

Never happening. A lot of the roster Tanahashi and Okada in particular can't work a full time schedule. The absence of ANY perspective of new New Japan fans has been the most annoying thing in the post-Wrestle Kingdom. I get people being exuberant about a new product but you have people comparing New Japan's Wrestlemania to WWE Raw.

It shows how desperate wrestling fans are for an alternative. I'm honest when I chose it because I have Raw/WWE burnout and New Japan guys have shown up at shows at BCW, my local Indy so I've become more familiar with their product lately. It's cool to see they are alive and well since they dipped to under 20000 fans for Wrestle Kingdom but are back to above 40000.

I'd DVR both, watch RAW first most likely. It would be very cool if NJPW with JR and Matt Striker on commentary was a regular thing on cable TV.

I'd probably not bother checking it out. Don't watch Raw most weeks either but I'll stick to it I guess, I'm broken down by this point.

New Japan. I don't watch it, but that's because I don't know how to keep up with it. If nothing else, it'd be an exciting departure from the same-old, same-old of Raw. I haven't sat through an episode of Raw in I don't know how long, but if there was good wrestling on--Raw or otherwise--I'd watch it.
