...references 4/10.
"it's the same old situation ... the authority is back, again. I'm sorry. to all the hard working superstars that spend 300 nights a year on the road, entertaining the fans the only way they know how, by giving them everything they can! I'm sorry. I've done absolutely everything in my power to not only deliver every night, but improve my unique skill set, daily. In any other job that would be rewarded, certainly not frowned upon. I may be out of new york, but I have a lot of connections in LA. I will see you all again soon & know that I miss THIS more than anything in the world, ANYTHING! but you don't know what's best for you, THEY do. then again, THEY probably think 4/10 is as good as it gets... same old ball and chain."
Lock up if I missed it being posted.

I like how he has to maintain kayfabe even when releasing a statement online that will only be read by smarks

Stone Cold gets fired. He shows up outside RAW with a hunting rifle. Vince shits bricks. He knows his head will be mounted on Austin's wall.
Dolph gets fired. Posts a sad message online.
How times change.

How times change. Not to nitpick but it was a bow and arrow IIRC. In a different era. If any of the "fired" talents showed up and implied they were gonna murder someone, USA, Sky, and any number of other networks would shit bricks.

Doesn't have to be outright threatening to kill the person that fired them. Any act of aggression would be fine rather than sulking and just taking the disses by the chin.

Does this guy have the most times kayfabe fired without being actually fired?

Yep. That's my main beef with the current crop. They just come off as helpless. They used to say "Oh man, what's Austin going to do about this Monday?" The puss era in wrestling is one of the things that make me not care. I could just go to any job to see a guy like Ziggler get fired. But if I have a disgruntled recent ex-employee that's in the work parking lot revving a monster truck next to the employee of the month's new Lincoln, well...

Yet we bitch when Cena gets "fired" and keeps showing up. Yeah, but it's more about the defiance than simply returning. I don't question Ziggler will return as well. But he won't return due to being rebellious, or by doing so in a fashion that rallies an audience to root for him. He'll return because someone else is threatening Triple H with a lawsuit and the boss caves in to the other guy. Just blahhhhh...

Yet we bitch when Cena gets "fired" and keeps showing up. Though in that Cena example, he wasn't fired due to an oppressive authority figure flexing their power. I'm just saying that a little rebellion and pushback on the part of the Authority's foes would be nice, instead of everyone grovelling and looking all sullen-like. Makes the faces in question look weak and doesn't inspire young fans to look up to them at all.

Cena was fired by someone who shouldn't have had the authority to do so to begin with.

Yet we bitch when Cena gets "fired" and keeps showing up. Because the way it was done it made the build-up to it absolutely pointless - had it been left at him costing Barrett the rematch with Orton, fine. But instead he was such a featured presence that once after he laid them out they started playing his f***ing theme music, and they just acted like he hadn't been fired at all. He didn't change tactics at all in regards to how he was fighting Nexus, he was just doing the same stuff and it was suddenly working.
