Hell Charlie Weis had a great first and second season at Notre Dame and we all agree his extent in was premature. If you are giving Beleiema an extension for being mediocre than I guess we should forgive Notr Dame for giving a dbl BCS coach an extension. To be fair, Weise didn't inherit the trainwreck Biliema did and unlike Weise Biliema was a proven commodity as a HC when Arkie hired him. Biliema did well at Wiscy and he's getting Arkie turned-around. I think extending him is a reasonable call. Ok, I'll concede. The team really did show some great stuff late in the season and the early October Southwest classic ought to be interesting this time.

FAN proudly presents ICBM's annual way too early NCAA football predictions:
Ohio state will be preseason #1 but somehow Bama will jump them before week 5 and nether will have a loss yet FSU will be undefeated until Clemson Notre Dame will run hard. Unknown if they finish well Texas will win early and often ESPN will start suckling USC in July and won't stop until they lose two in a row...and they will Texas A&M will beat LSU finally after four straight losses to the Tigers Auburn is in trouble Dak. Prescott will not produce like he did and ESPN will crucify him for it Baylor will not be as successful Someone we don't know will win hiesman Oregon will be Oregon Michigan beats Ohio state. Bet on it

How so? If anything, they should be better.

Someone should tell them about Braxton Miller. If he decides to leave Ohio State, he won't have to sit out.

sports.yahoo.com/blogs/ncaaf-dr-saturday/could-freshmen-become-ineligible-to-play-again-190245078.htmlHmmm.....for basketball sure. But football wins out as far as setting the pace and I don't see the coaches being happy about this. Something has to be done about basketball man. This sloppy crap today is a product of a lack of unity of effort. Unity of effort comes thru good team dynamics and you cannot form a team and have them perform to max with less than a yr in rotation (practices, meetings being limited by rule). Group dynamics go in four phases: Forming, Storming, Norming and Performing. The way the current turn over goes because of the one and done phenomenon teams get stuck in or between Forming and Storming. That lack of progress thru the entire team building process comes apparent when the things basketball teams count on, aren't happening. As an example, it is widely accepted that there is a seeming reluctance to drive the basket. It happens but not as frequently as it had once upon a by (not my observation alone, listen to some talking heads and coaches). The guys stand off, pass and when the shot clock runs low somebody shoots a low percentage shot. On a well formed and adaptive team alphas have emerged and have been recognized almost intrinsically. Those players are aggressive and drive, so they are fed the ball when the others recognize the situation is right. This happens in half seconds and only if they know each other very well. This is only one small example but it creates sloppy and loose play and in my opinion it is bad for basketball. Football does not suffer from one and done by policy. But if this rule the article mentions is accepted without caveat, football would suffer.

And for those who missed it, former New England Patriots OC, Notre Dame HC, Florida OC and Kansas HC Charlie Weis says he doubts he will ever coach anpgain and has no regrets other than wishing the Notre Dame job would have lasted longer. Notre Dame fans disagree with that last one. I'm sure quite the opposite actually. But, coach Weis was a good coordinator and a very good recruiter but not a very good coach. I wish him luck and trying to find ways to spend all that Notre Dame and Kansas money...yes he is still getting paid by Notre Dame not to coach Notre Dame

He's a bad head coach who got way too much credit for Notre Dame's success his first two seasons. He was winning with Ty Willingham's recruits. Once Weis' recruits took over, you know what happened. Willingham did suck at Washington, but he still got f***ed over by Notre Dame hard.

UGA will open the 2016 season against UNC in the Chik-fil-A kickoff game To quote a famous Atlanta commentator, "whoa, that'll put some butts in the seats" And... espn.go.com/college-sports/story/_/id/12349646/big-ten-considering-ineligibility-freshmenThis is a side show that is meant to draw attention away from autonomy. Specifically away from something they want done that would be more controversial or divisive. I cannot accept that the commissioners are genuine or that all of them would be and a unanimous vote in favor would pass. I see the logic but I'm going to have to agree with Steven A. For once. One and done is effecting the quality of basketball but is less than 1% of student athletes. Why paint the thousands of student athletes with the same brush over a one sport issue? The NBA can do home thing about this but they might lose money some far fetched way (I don't know how but I've heard commentators say it so somebody is worried). This is a step backward. Freshmen have been varsity eligible for decades. I see this as a controversial story for talking heads to chew on while whatever the conferences really want, gets organized away from scrutiny. Maybe the stipends or likeness rights are the hidden topic. I don't know, but I don't believe this

Kids just won't go to a Big 10 school I think they're trying to get all P5 schools to pass it or something. I still think we eventually move in a strange CFB dystopia where you have some schools play in an academic league and others in a more lenient league.
