2nd favourite film in the the tournament fighter genre with enter the dragon being the undisputed king. But how many tournament fighter films are there to compare it with? Lots. Van Damme did a bunch of them, including Kickboxer and Lionheart. Don wilson was in a few, and there were a bunch of others in the late 80s/early 90s that were pretty damn cheesy.

Is this the film where a big Kevin Nash a like guy beats people by literally slamming his fist on to the top of their heads?

I adored Bloodsport as a kid and really any film whose plot was basically "you must compete in some seedy, super underground martial arts tournament because _____."
I'd love to see that action sub-genre get a shot in the arm. Enough with the vroom vroom and the ratta tatta. Cars go fast and guns make people die. We've got it.
The main antagonists in those types of movies just don't have the aura of badassitude that a Chong Li or Tsong Po does. Even if they're shown to have hand-to-hand skill, it just isn't the same.

Speaking of 90's tournament films, what was the one with Lou Ferigno as a mentally challenged vet? If I recall that one got a sequel.

It'd a cheesy fun movie, with a great goofy theme song. You really can't go wrong with it, and it joins Commando as one of my favorite movies of that era of action. KU-mi-TE KU-mi-TE KU-mi-TE KU-mi-TE

KU-mi-TE KU-mi-TE KU-mi-TE KU-mi-TE I'm still a mark for that song. Never can get enough of Stan Bush. That and Dare from The Transformers movie are songs that don't leave my playlist. Back to the topic, I love that movie. I even remember looking on wiki and they made the brackets for Bloodsport. I always laugh when they didn't know the name of one of the guys that jobbed to Chong Li. In the brackets they just named him Geese Howard. Its in my Mount Rushmore of movies I can watch on repeat forever: -Bloodsport -Independence Day -Mortal Kombat -Naked Gun: From the Files of Police Squad If I could add one more, it would be either Surf Ninjas or Rush Hour 2

There was another one that was pretty violent, but I can't remember the name. It involved a guy who was adopted into a Japanese family, and the brother felt overshadowed and eventually joined the Yakuza. Years later, there's an underground fighting organization that's really violent. Guys use weapons and there are a lot of limbs lost. Tong Po is in it and he has a knife attached to his hair and he carries it in his mouth. He gets decapitated by the brother, who at this point is the main villain and fights with a legendary samurai sword or something.

The guy that plays Tong Po doesn't have very many credits to his name and the closest movie from his filmography I can find that fits your description.

That movie is complete trash I believe there is only like 2 fights that actually make past the 1 min mark and none of them are worth a damn due to shoddy camera work , you know the kind fast cuts and in close so you cannot see a damn thing.
