My wife got rid of the game and guitars without consulting me when we moved. Now I'm pissed I could have played Shepard Of Fire on it.

Sweet. I remembered to grab one of my guitars from my parents, so I'll be able to play it again. Plus, I've been listening to AM for the past few weeks, and R U Mine?'s been one of my favourite songs on the album.

There's a lot of chatter about Harmonix using this to build up hype towards a true Rock Band 4. Whether it's on current or last gen consoles is anyone's guess, but if it's PS4/X1/Wii U they've stated they wanted DLC libraries to carry over from the older generation. Which is probably a massive undertaking but I hope it works.
My only request is if it's Current Gen only is that the instruments work with older systems. My 360 Rock Band guitar is beat the hell up and it's about impossible to find replacements anymore.

Was guitar hero the one with the mat on the floor with the arrows you had to step on (in time with the music) or the one where you got a free mouse and could paint Super Mario???

Guitar Hero was the one where you shot a light gun at your TV, and a dog laughed at you.

Since Rockband 3 came out I've had two kids and gotten a new PS3. Imagine my horror when I found out that new PS3s only have two ports. Not good.
Rockband 2 4-lyfe.

If they are making a Rock Band for current gen, they would have to make new instruments because most people have either gotten rid of them or are really beaten up. As for controller forwards compatibility, the only console I could see that happening on is the PS4 as people have worked on PS3 fight stick drivers for PS4. Also, I was already psyched for Amplitude on PS3/PS4, but the idea of the return of Rock Band would be amazing.

I think you misunderstood me. By "current gen" I'm referring to PS4, Xbox One, and Wii U. Obviously they would need new instruments for those consoles. I just hope they're backwards compatible with PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii if there isn't a version for that generation.

I can't take the survey because it "requires an answer" but every time I answer one particular question, another particular question becomes unanswered.
Anyway, I'd LOVE to see a Rock Band 4 on the current consoles!!! HOWEVER, I want improvements and more options!! One thing that always bothered me about the older Rock Band games was the limited clothing and body types for created band members, as well as a lack of depth with stuff happening to your band. I think there should be a much larger range of character customization. Maybe not as in depth as WWE's CAWs or anything, but way more than what they originally gave us!
As far as what I mean by "stuff happening to your band" I always liked the little stories they sort of had in previous games (getting a manager, new ride, winning new clothes and hairstyles, ect) but I always thought they could do more with that. More story elements. Nothing crazy, just stuff like answering questions from magazines, giving interviews, having your ride break down, ect. Like, say you do the option to give an interview...there's a little cut scene of your character sitting down with a reporter...then it cuts back to the game before you play some songs, and you get a bonus like: "you thrilled fans with your interview, so it will be easier to please them as you play" sort of thing.
I dunno if any of that makes any sense, but I think it be really awesome and fun to see!

I can't take the survey because it "requires an answer" but every time I answer one particular question, another particular question becomes unanswered. If you're talking about the last question, you can't pick the same answer for different statements. So, if you said most excited about a new Rock Band on current consoles (1 on their scale) you can't also select 1 for new versions of instruments on legacy consoles.

I can't take the survey because it "requires an answer" but every time I answer one particular question, another particular question becomes unanswered. It's pretty dumb how they set it up. You have to choose one number at least once so basically out of those five things you have to rank your excitement of them. It was doing the same thing for me til I read directly above it. I wish it said not how much I CURRENTLY play and but dlc but how much I USED to. I used to play every day and but almost every dlc it came out with.

If you're talking about the Rank 1-5 excitement section, you have to rank them in order from one to five. Can't double up on them. I guess it's a way to counter overexcited fans who'd vote 5 for everything or trolls who'd do the opposite.
