Thats why its best to do your own thing. James and Mike don't seem to have this trouble James created Cinemassacre way before AVGN got popular. So it's a pretty different situation to CA.

Okay, I can believe Phelous and Lupa. What JO just said there was absolute horsecrap. She's the one who has harassed her own fans (and even got her boyfriend and some different fans of hers to assist her). I don't believe any of what she says. You see, I don't think the fans are the innocent victims. Yeah, she's guilty of being antagonistic, but when you have people going out of their way to shit on her for the Spoony fallout (something she ironically had nothing to do with), and her personal relationship with Nash, it's far me to feel bad for them when she shoots venom back at them.

This seems to happen a lot in the online entertainment/review world. None of us really seem to work well with one another in the extended run. Hell, FAN is the result of two separate sites both having severe issues that saw things either implode or break away. Most I'm assuming are already aware of the Wrestlecrap situation, but to be honest, outside of some "supporters" on the sidelines who wanted to rile things up, it was pretty amicable. Just a situation of two very different visions of how to handle things giving way. RD was always - ALWAYS - great to me and I will always be thankful and appreciate what he did with and for us. The Pop Syndicate implosion (the review website I was helping run at the same time) was a lot uglier, and a large part of it was my own fault, or at least due to me.
Hopefully they all land on their feet and keep going.

Totally different in this case. Cinemassacre is just largely Rolfe and his friend making videos on their own, without any other producers contributing.

Man everyone that I enjoy is leaving Basically, she has so many things on her plate such as working on Pokemon & documentaries for Al-Jazzera America that she decided to stop reviews. After all of the shadiness coming out is making me grateful that I didn't submit an entry to their hiring drive.

Problem is, the fans I'm referring to are not the dunderheads that followed Spoony. I'm talking about the fans of her that were on the That Guy With The Glasses board.

Dude, her fans are gigantic creeps just because she's a woman on the internet that is talking about anime. Not to mention people on TV Tropes dragging out everything about her life and putting it on display then going "nah JO, you see you're a person on the internet so you bought all this creeping on yourself"

I can second that one. Basically summed up to having a user having an issue with her for bashing on Bronies, and then it all escalated downhill from there, including having her new boyfriend say some pretty hateful things, like stating that none of us ever truly mattered and never will, and having her not only do nothing to stop it, but basically helped him in doing so and saying that she was happy that she no longer has to deal with any of us there. Not just a small portion of the fandom that would bash on her for personal things that really have no bearing on them, that I could understand, but pretty much her entire TGWTG fandom. I dunno, maybe I took it out of context, but that's how it felt. Its no longer on the site, due to her portion of the forum being removed, but it was basically her response to the whole thing what made me not want anymore to do with her content.

The thing is, someone being a twit in the past doesn't automatically make them wrong about everything, and given everything that has come out about the site's management, from Suburban Nights to crowdfunding hypocrisy to Blistered Thumbs to this, I have a hard time discounting what she or anyone says.

I agree. I might not like her attitude as of late, but I don't believe that she's lying about this. This seems like its gonna get worse in the next few days.

Personally I'm a fan of Phelous but yeah, can't really blame him for getting out. His own site's the only suitable way to follow him and Channel Awesome (so hate that name) is a sinking ship.
Edit: Yeah, reading up on the situation more, whole situation just sounds f***ed up in general.

It does sound a lot worse than I suspected just a day ago. Pinch of salt of course, it's one side of the arguments, but you can still draw common threads.
And of course it's SRS business, many of the reviewers are/were making their main source of income on their videos. It's really important if they're getting shafted out of revenue, undervalued for what they have done or are being pressured into altering what they're doing.
Feels like a real tipping point for things. Either the CA management is going to have to wise up a lot, or things will slide further.

I kinda hope that SF Debris just goes "yeah, being here for a month was nice but I'm outta here" because he seems like the nicest guy and doesn't really need the CA exposure.

Apparently Oancitizen is gone as well...which got me to thinking more about this.
At first I thought that this was bad and could lead to the end of the careers of the reviewers who left the site. But then I realised something, and that's that the majority of stuff I watched from Channel Awesome/TGWTG talent was outside of the Channel Awesome/TGWTG site. Whenever I've watched Oancitizen's stuff, it's almost always on Chez Apocalypse. Whenever I watch Diamanda Hagan's reviews, it's usually on her own site, or when it comes to her older stuff, her YouTube channel. I watch all of Cinema Snob's stuff on his site, I watch Nostalgia Critic on the League of Super Critics channel on YouTube, I watch Bennett the Sage and Angry Joe on their YouTube channels....and on and on it goes. Hell, the last time I watched a Phelous video was on the Phelous website.
After thinking about it, I've realised that while all these people are/were part of Channel Awesome/TGWTG, I usually end up watching the videos elsewhere for whatever reason. And after thinking about it, the only people I actually watch on the main site are Rap Critic and Film Brain (although I do intend to watch more Count Jakula in the future).
I really don't know where I'm going with this. I guess after thinking about it I just hope that they can all continue to make videos even if Channel Awesome/TGWTG shuts down or something.

To me it kinda sucks because it was nice to have everything in one place, Linkara, Brad, Todd, NC, Chick etc. Out of the new guys, SFDebris was already possibly my favourite reviewer online, Ursa has her moments, if we give the new people views, maybe they'll be as good. Could just be a change in generation rather than the downfall. SFDebris actually isn't 'new.' He's been around longer than most contributors. It's just recently he got a spot on CA. That's what I meant, new to the site, I've been watching him for years.
