They can't show the Main Event next week due to "contractual obligations", rumours strongly link this with the launch of the Network in the UK. It'll instead be replaced by that Santino draw thing for the Rumble.
Main Event is part of the new UK deal with Sky. It would be funny if after all their efforts to launch the Network in the UK it means they can no longer broadcast Main Event on the Network because it would infringe upon their exclusivity agreement with Sky TV.
EDIT: Updated title due to tweet in later post

In its place will be a one hour weekly show of people playing WCW Main Event for the Game Boy.

If nothing else they get around it by calling it something else on the Network. It's the Mane Event... it's all about hair... <_< >_>
Or showing something else on the UK Stream.

A Rumble special? I'd watch that. In its place will be a one hour weekly show of people playing WCW Main Event for the Game Boy. I'd watch this too.

The official WWE Network Twitter account seems to indicate that Main Event has finished on the Network
...so I guess...that's it? But they still have to supply it to the UK.

It'll probably morph into what Superstars has become, 1 match, maybe 2 short ones, followed by a 30 minute Raw recap. Hell, Superstars might start showing a Smackdown recap depending on what day it was moved to.

Main Event is playing on the live stream now. It will but the contract with Sky doesn't kick-in until next next week. When the Network was supposed to officially launch even though it seems up an running already.

So, Main Event will become irrelevant.

In the US no television deal exists so it isn't going to be shown unless they make a deal with Sky.

Does the US and Canada keep it on the Network? No I don't get why not. Network does not appear overflowing with new content from what I see and the live stream is a four hour loop. They need more stuff like Main Event, not less.

Well, like all WWE one-hour shows, we knew the importance of Main Event was going to decrease at some point. Surprised its lasted this long. When it moved to WWE.com, Heat was an afterthought until its dying days.
