Yeah, they're both garbage pizza whereas both these dudes are great actors.

Maybe 3 years ago I would have agreed, but Gyllenhaal has made major gains as an actor, whereas the only thing I felt Hardy excelled as an actor in was Bronson, every other movie is gives an average performance.

I thought Hardy rocked the shit in Locke. That and his role as the villain in Peaky Blinders were both very inspired performances.

I meant to say Gyllenhaal is an improvement on Hardy, which is not a knock on Hardy whatsoever it's just that Gyllenhaal is certainly the more interesting commodity at the moment.

He was damn good in Locke, Warrior and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. He was fine in the Nolan movies. I haven't seen Lawless but I wouldn't hold that against him.

He was forgettable in both Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and Inception. Very basic performances. Dark Knight Rises was very meh and he didn't add any depth by "emoting". Warrior was a pretty meh movie as well.

Warrior may have been meh on the whole, but Hardy and Nolte were both really great in it.
