Lol at Rad Radford. Name something he did productive in ECW, WWF or WCW? Not to sound rude but the best thing for his "legacy" is that he died young.

I don't understand the premise. Most of the names mentioned established themselves during prior runs (Rude) or didn't need more time to established themselves (Perfect) or established themselves in another territory (Steiners).

Neither as good as Haukshi was he wasn't the type of wrestler WWF fans cheered for. Douglas was overrated, Candido didn't have much going for him and Radford was your typical upper card jobber. Don't see why so many ECW fans think these guys could've been stars in WWF or WCW. Those gimmicks suck! All four of those guys were in their prime here and they never got to really show what they could do. ECW fans saw them at their best and had faith that they could be stars. They were mostly wrong, but that's why we thought that. Anyone who judges Shane Douglas or Chris Candido based on their WWF runs is missing it. I'm not judging them on just that. Shane, Chris, and Radford were not that good to begin with. Shane had 2 separate stints in WWF and WCW and was a star in ECW when it was still bush league. Candido had the same success in ECW than he did in WWF as a tag team champ and Radford died when in ECW. FYI Douglas and Candido quit cause they couldn't handle the pressure of competing with bigger stars. I never knocked Haukshi I just said the WWF fans at that time were never really into the Japanese high flyers. You want to talk about crappy gimmicks. Kevin Nash: OZ Vinny Vegas held multiple titles in both companies. Scott Hall: Diamond Stud held multiple titles in both companies. Mark Calaway: Dress like a grave digger and walk around like a zombie. Turned that stupid gimmick into a legend. It doesn't matter the gimmick if given the opportunity the talent will come out.

Hall, Nash and Taker were paired up with their friends or established main event talent (Compared to the others Taker had an embarrassment of riches) and were stuck in upper midcard feuds from day one. Douglas got an upper midcard feud that made him look amazing too... He got to beat Razor with a roll-up then handed the IC title by default, lost it in the same night then got shunted down the card, doing little worthwhile until he left before the end of the year. He was made to look like a jackass on the night that was meant to establish him as a guy on his way to the top and the rest is history. Douglas' story was not uncommon, rising star meets kliq, finds they magically don't have 'it' then down the card they go.

If you really followed his career you'll see that other than ECW he didn't do much. He had two stints in WCW and both times got a decent push and was paired with his friends and did nothing with it. He even had Torrie Wilson as his valet and got a lot of t.v. time with the new blood story line. You might remember his first go around in WCW. Tag team champion with a legend Ricky Steamboat. Major feud with the Hollywood blondes aka Austin and Pillman. Not to mention his first stint in WWF where he lasted 25 minutes in the 1991 Royal Rumble. Shane Douglas had a lot of experience in wrestling before the Dean Douglas gimmick and still never really became the big star he thinks he should have been. As for being paired up with your buddies that's always happened in wrestling. Nothing new.

This thread had made me realize a big difference in wrestling from the 80's and 90's to now.
I'm so used to guys like a Kofi Kingston or a Santino just hanging around and having near decade long runs but meaning so little it feels like a couple years. In comparison a legend like Jake Roberts was in the WWF for what, right around six years? Diesel was there for three? I think Dolph Ziggler's run is longer than Randy Savage's was.
