Regarding the Spectre: The best origin and explanation of the character came after the Crisis reboot, in the excellent Ostrander/Mandrade series. Instead of being a man chosen by God, Jim was so angry upon his death that he basically begged God to let him get revenge. This led to some terrific character work where Jim came face to face with his own beliefs and issues, and grew to be an entity that was beyond needing to satisfy a lust for vengeance. It became a personal tale of accepting salvation. The last arc is incredible, and is a earned moment of finality for Jim Corrigan.
So of course Geoff Johns retcons an entire five year run of the comic in three panels in JSA by showing a flashback where Jim's spirit upon death says he just wants to rest and not come back, because its how he liked it pre-crisis. Its what made me finally go away from his books entirely. So sometimes retcons suck, and sometimes they don't. Without reading the GbM story, the description makes me think it may take a turn the 90's Spectre series did, and quite frankly that could be terrific. One of the positives of being an agent of God itself is that its very easy for things to be manipulated or altered by a higher power. This could lead to another personal journey to redemption. Or it could be crap.

Seriously get your shit together Marvel. What I found interesting is that October almost didn't have an X-men book at all released... which hasn't happened since the 70's

So... Marvel has taken an "e-fedder" approach to deadlines..... Gotta start to ask what is causing these delays? Is it bad editorial issues, poor talent management or talent taking on too much/working too slowly?

I've never really got in to this story. It started out seeming like someone was overly critical of someone else's work. When the 'victim' of that made a fuss, the 'perpetrator,' worried about their own skin, fessed up and apologised. But then the 'victim' keeps going on about it? I used inverted commas not to belittle, but because I honestly can't seem to find enough evidence to decide either way; it certainly seem that Sims was a dick, but it also seems like Dorazio kinda needs to get over it/herself....

Yeah, I don't remember the story so I can't really say one way or the other.

I read something she wrote in 2006 which was a bit distressing...saying how someone in the industry litterally broke her vagina

But Ribic also being poorly managed in as far as making sure he had things with enough time to get them done and equally that he is meeting his deadlines. Soft touch editing, has it's positives (nicer working conditions, more freedom) and negatives (delays, continuity getting f***ed).

Frank Miller's ASBAR has a 'great ending', Jim Lee wants back on it Batman f***s Robin over the American flag while Superman kills himself and most of the Middle East in a huge explosions symbolised by the painful look in Robin's eyes as he asks for more? Sorry, I just dont believe Miller has anything 'really cool' left in the tank.

Also something about Irish Black Canary and Wonder Woman alternate making out with Batman due to how manly he is But yeah if he had something really cool in mind maybe he should have put it in the other All Star Batman and Robin books and not save it for the finale....or not be terrible in general.
