Finally finished Last of Us II. Holy hell this game was way too long. More padding than a set of shoulder pads in the 80's. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}I f***ing HATED that Abby never got hers. I don't care how sympathetic they tried to make her, she deserved to die. You should've at least been given the choice whether or not to spare her. She's a juiced up, unstoppable monster who killed a character you grew attached to in the first game. To me, her not dying makes a lot of the game (most of the game) pointless. And that f***ing ending...[/spoilers] How the hell did this game get such a high rating with everything I've been reading about it?

To be as fair as possible, I’d say the game minus the shitty awful terrible ending is a 9/10. That ending though? Fxxx that ending. Ruined the entire series.

So according to a Reddit post, you might want to keep a tab on your notifications, as people are saying that Sony is giving out $10 in PSN credit to celebrate 10 years of PlayStation Plus.

Bought Ark: Survival because it was cheap.
Possibly the worst and shittest character creation I've ever seen in a game. Utter wank. The default is ugly as f***, and to get something half-resembling normal or decent seems a right faff.

Addition: The game is f***ing shit.
Started it, in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by presumably player-owned creatures and no clue what the f*** I'm meant to do.
Edit: Somebody killed me within 5 minutes. Would it have hurt for a tutorial zone like on Elder Scrolls Online so I could learn what to actually do?

Not to clutter up the thread, but have video games stopped being fun?
Trying some of my backlog from PS Plus and Ark that I just purchased.
Ark wasn't fun --- 10 minutes into the game and I'm told I'm starving with zero hint of what Im meant to do to find food.
Tomb Raider sucks --- There's zero fun about running around killing turkeys to get feathers for arrows and gathering mushrooms.
Dirt (The PS Plus rally game) wasn't fun. It's just overly realistic. I just wanna have a bit of fun for an hour, not have to spend hours practising and fine-tuning my car and listening to the co-drivers jibberish instructions to finish a race.
I enjoyed The Last of Us II, but that aside, I'm struggling to think of the last game that was actually fun. FF VII had it's moments with the boss battles but overall was tedious and dragged out. Fallen Order maybe, that was a blast to play.
It just seems too many games now seem to crank up the realism and tediousness and miss out the fun factor.

That character created instantly soured me on the whole game, but I’m not huge into survival games anyways. I struggle to have fun when managing hunger/cold/etc. Disagree on Tomb Raider. I thought that series did Uncharted better than Uncharted itself did. As for games as a whole? It’s all personal tastes. I have fun with nearly every single Soulsborne game released, even after getting killed by bosses over and over again while others would want to break their controllers. I have fun with the “Playable movie” genre. Others have fun with sports games, even though I can’t fathom ever touching one. Lol

Lol I like realism, at this point and my age when I play something I want to be immersed in it knowing I don't really play games back again right after beating it It is why I loved Red Dead because it was real. I don't care for the survival games tho. Red Dead had you lose weight but it never really effected you noticeably same with how much power your guns have if you don't clean them. It is a nice mechanic but isn't handicapping your experience

I had much the same problem as above with The Forest. It's creepy as f*** but I have next to no clue what I should be doing, nor did I know that I've got about 10-15 minutes to clear out of the starting area before the cannibals roll in until I looked it up.
At least Subnautica nudges you in the right direction to start, teaching you how to harvest materials and catch fish right off the bat.
I haven't played Ark, but I'm doubting the character creator is any worse than Dragon Age: Inquisition's is. Holy hell is that thing bad. I have spent hours in there with the InquisitionSliders subreddit trying to get good results and it's still hit or miss, especially if you're on console with no mods. I have no idea who had the bright idea to use three somewhat-different looking faces for cutscenes/talking to npcs/roaming around, but they should be flogged with a wet noodle for it. Most of my inquisitors have resting bitch face and there's no way to fix it. I hate it, it sucks.
It's especially weird since Andromeda's is nearly the same but I'm able to get much better results with it.

Unless there’s been a pretty big overhaul to ARK’s creator (which it doesn’t really sound like there has) DA:I is far superior. Speaking of awful creators; Outward. RPG game with survival elements which ended up having a bit too much survival element for my liking... but an abysmal create a character immediately un-immersed me and made me try a little less to get into and learn the mechanics.

Maybe look less at the overproduced AAA and more at Indies for a while? I have nothing personal against AAA myself outside of wishing there were better working conditions across the whole industry but yeah...the indie scene has exploded the last decade so there are so many different experiences out there. Here’s a good start; Maneater. It’s 25% off on the Summer sale, developed by a team of 80 or so people and you play as a Shark that eats people. There you go. If there is one thing Sony did really well this generation was take advantage of independent developers. Nintendo kind of lapped them by the end of it with big first releases but at the start, it really helped them get a good diverse range of games for their platform so...like, get on that.

Like, for all we know, it could be an exclusive character costume like the Steam version (Kratos or Natan Drake would be cool choices) but then I also think that would have been announced the same time the release date was announced. The reason it could be the PS+ thing is because it's not unprecedented for it to happen. One of the reasons Rocket League was massive as it was was because it was launched as a PS+ game and ballooned from there. Disc Jam seems to still have a following as well from its own PS+ launch too. The other one was Drawn to Kill but we don't talk about that one... Also as we speak, it's the 6th most brought Steam game and it's not even out yet. That dropping of the NDA and the streams afterwards helped with that. I mean, we won't know until then but there's too much smoke without a little bit of fire there.

This sale is sort of meh Nothing I really want or need. Personal Royal is the one I most likely will cop. Stuff like Dragonabll Kakarot, RE3, Death Stranding while much cheaper at $35 isn't a big enough sale for me to be like yeah i'll cop it I might change my mind but right now i'm only looking at Persona an maybe Hitman 2 (Golden edition) as that is only $20 Oh, that's a steal for the golden Hitman 2 and the game has a surprising amount of replay value. Highly recommended. Just purchased and it finished downloading Had a lot of fun with the 1st and plan to with this. May play the 1st over since i'm able to

I ask because I've gotten so much replay from Hitman 2 going back and playing the levels with the specific challenges to get the trophies and they add so much more to the journey. Highly recommended. The New York DLC (which should be included with the Golden version) is probably my favorite and most played Hitman level of all time.
