Shoutout to Sony and the PS5. Too bad it is still a big hassle to buy one Yeah it really is. It'll be next year at the earliest when people can easily buy one.

At this point guess going to be waiting awhile on it myself since I went ahead and picked up a Series S as a consolation prize when I didn't manage to get one. I'll definitely get it at some point, I need all my weird anime shit that doesn't usually find its way to the Xbox, but it kind of removes the urgency to get a modern console for other stuff. Maybe I'll get lucky in the fall or something.

I'm going to post this in the RE thread too, but, heads up everyone who owns a PS4/5. The Resident Evil Village demo is going to be available for PlayStation users at 5 pm PT (in an hour and a half) and you are only allowed to play the 30 minute trial during the 8 hour window (until 1a.m PT).
Preloading is also available.

Played it, there wasn't a lot but overall it was good.
Things I like:
*There were many locked/unreachable areas that required different things to open them and ammo/health items required you to actually look for them, so already I can tell that the environmental design is not like RE4-6 and instead feels like a much larger version of RE7 which is good.
*There were just a few monsters and they don't go down easy. They're pretty smart too, staying hidden in fields waiting for you to come to them rather than just lunging at you. There was even a point where I laid a mine in front of one, expecting for him to just walk on it, but instead he backed off and went back to hiding.
*Ethan is given a lot more to say, nothing that interesting yet but his actor is definitely given more to work with.
Things I don't like:
*Enemies are back to dropping items.
*The writing and dialogue feel like a step down compared to 7 but it's still pretty early, and other than the witch lady, all the none Ethan characters in this were obviously expendable.
*Yellow, so much damn yellow.

I played roughly 15 minutes to get a feel, but didn’t really feel compelled to go any more. Feels like Ethan has visited both Resident Evil 4 and/or Outlast 2, which is just so strange to me. Ethan was so wholly unforgettable as a main that I can’t wrap my head around him returning,
I was terrible at combat because I was being wreckless, then once I emerged from the first house and there was like 5 to 7 more monster people in the field and I only had three bullets left I peace-outed. Lol

Looking for a bit of playstation advice. I know everyone else has moved onto the PS5 now but I recently picked up the Batman Arkham City, Arkham Asylum and Arkham Origins for the PS3 (Yeah I know, i'm a long way behind the times!) So my question is, would anyone who has played this series recommend that I play Origins first, despite the fact that it is the later game or should I play them in the order that they were released. Thanks in advance.

Thanks in advance. I'd play Origins last. It only barely even relates to the other two, and gameplay-wise it's pretty much just Arkham City 2: Arkham Citier. Has pretty much all of the same mechanics and the biggest differences between them are that it's a good bit more difficult and has better boss fights, to where it pretty much just feels like a decent expansion pack more than really a game in its own right. City notably builds on Asylum's mechanics (though personally I do like Asylum more) but Origins is kind of just more of the same of City for the most part.

Lol You're not supposed to go back. You were supposed to go on the blue tarp then vault over the fence to open the large gate.

I blame the 30 minute limit, when there’s a time-crunch I can’t properly play the game. I did a quick scan of the backyard and made a snap judgement that I saw nothing and must have missed something in the past area.

For me I stumbled around awhile trying to find the keys to the gate not really getting that that wasn't the initial objective, then I got myself killed in the weeds with the werewolves because I ran out of ammo (though I did manage to shank one to death first), then on resuming I got as far as climbing out of the wrecked truck before time ran out.

Was playing WatchDogs yesterday night and made a mistake and got my Hit-Woman killed when doing a mission DAMMIT!!! The worst feeling! After searching for a while to get an OAP character with good perks (because the low mobility makes most of the game's animations hilarious), I somehow got into a police chase, and she was too slow to get away no matter how hard I tried, so it just kept escalating no matter how hard I tried to get away, until I was in my first Level 5 chase. She sadly perished. On the plus side, unlocked everything from this season of the online without much grinding, which is nice considering how many games really push you to grind or pay extra to avoid the FOMO.
