Just had a look at new games due this year.
Some quite interesting looking ones.
Silent Hill 2, Life is Strange Double Exposure, Rugrats (looks a lot of fun) Corsairs (Finally, a PS5 pirate game that looks good!), Looney Tunes Wacky World of Sport, Empire of the Ants, Dollhouse, Orange Season, The Casting of Frank Stone
A good selection of games there.

I hate when sports games are given as a freebie. They are too niche. If you're not a fan of a sport, you're not going to be interested. It's a guaranteed wasted game for me. Especially when the MLB game is on a new season which means new players are already behind

So, how is the new Star Wars game?
I was considering getting it, but it's my birthday in two days. Figured I would wait in case someone has got it for me.

It's alright though it has some frustrating and sometimes hilarious bugs. As with other Ubisoft games, I'd wait for a sale and some patches first before getting it.

I don't know if it will apply with a Star Wars license, but Ubisoft games drop so hard so fast.

It's alright though it has some frustrating and sometimes hilarious bugs. As with other Ubisoft games, I'd wait for a sale and some patches first before getting it. Weirdly, with other games said to be bug-riddled I often encounter very few--Skyrim, Fallout, Red Dead etc. So that isnt a big negative for me. What is the gameplay and world like, does it feel like you are in the Star Wars universe? And is the open world actually worth exploring? (Open World games bore me if you spend 20 minutes exploring an area only to be awarded with a different colour skin or a meaningless trophy--if you have an open world, fill it with something cool. A secret weapon, a cool side quest, a fun memorable character etc)

I'd never even heard of Concord before it horrifically flopped but holy shit I am already exhausted with idiots beating their chests about how this completely bland and toothless game with bad art design in a genre that people are widely tired of because barely anyone even gives a shit about actual Overwatch at this point, much less bootlegs of it, is proof of their, "Get woke go broke," nonsense. There are a million things you can point at for the game flopping as badly as it did and that isn't part of it.

I am glad Star Wars Outlaws lets you remove the splicing and lockpicking minigames. I have no f***ing idea how they are meant to work. Lockpicking I get, it's a rhythm game, but I have no idea how many I need to get right to open it or if my progress resets if I f*** up or if I miss one of the beats and it resets.
Splicing might as well be wizardry for me.
So glad they have a mode to make it automatic.

The fact that I, a guy who's generally well informed about gaming, have never heard of that game until it flopped might point to marketing as way bigger reason why it flopped than any perceived "wokeness".

Star Wars Outlaws is a good game but f*** me are there some annoyances.
Chief one--respawning enemies when you die or reload. Which basically means if you are infiltrating an enemy camp or base or whatever, the clear route you made by taking out enemies on your way in is closed which in some cases makes it impossible to get back out without being spotted. Likewise the security cameras and alarms you disabled are back online.
My rating for Crimson Dawn plummeted because sneaking into their camp to get a special jacket, I ended up reloading only to have a shit tonne of enemies respawn on my way out who were impossible to sneak by because of their positions.
The speeder races are also some bullshit--I got one, had no idea where I was meant to go. I followed the smoke you were meant to right into an enemy camp and then the trail just... ended?

Glad I decided to get Star Wars outlaws as by the sounds of it, it sounds like fun and I feel like one of the few who love open world games so to have an open world star wars game is exciting to me!
Currently playing on PS5 Final fantasy 16, pretty good when the action gets going but a slog when there's nothing happening, Gotham Knights which I just finished, decent game, and Stumble Guys.

I am enjoying it so far. But it has its annoyances. For a game featuring a lot of stealth, it needs some more stealth mechanics like an option to hide bodies. And whilst the story quests so far are fun, the side quests are very fetch-questy with little thought put into them beyond "break into xxx place and steal xxx"

It does look a very beautiful game from what I have seen.

It's not entirely "Assassin's Creed but with a Star Wars paint job," but if you like the AC gameplay you'll probably like this.

It does look a very beautiful game from what I have seen. I am only on the first planet, but so far yes. The planet is gorgeous with some amazing visuals. I enjoy driving around with the speeder and checking things out and walking through the towns hearing snippets of conversation of people moaning about the empire or some thugs shaking down a shop owner as you pass by. Some fun side games too--Sarlacc is great. I love playing that.

The game gets awfully exciting when you get a high wanted level with the Empire.
I had a mission to bust a splicer out of an Imperial base which rather than go quietly, went noisily.
The entire planet went ape shit--drop ships, Imperial Walkers, Death Troopers, these troop carrying APC type things all prowling around looking for little old me.

Concord's servers are being taken down on September 6th.
This might be the quickest a game's died ever, holy shit.

This Concord thing is nuts. I knew it was a rough launch but I didn't expect this.

The usual suspects are already crowing about go woke, go broke when Concord was a mediocre game with zero hype or marketing in an insanely crowded space.
