Oh cool, I've been kind of wanting to give The Quarry a shake but didn't want to pay for it. Was figuring I'd end up waiting for the next time Gamefly offers me a $1 trial but PS Plus works too.
Edit: Nevermind, they put up Harvest Moon: Back to Nature, f*** everything else, that's all I'm playing. Greatly hope that's one of the PS1 games you can actually buy, proooobably will be since there are others on there and they haven't put up any non-purchasable ones in awhile.

Finished the Wo Long demo. I was disappointed with how Forspoken ended up, but Team Ninja has a winner here. Best way I can describe it is basically like a Chinese Nioh with a bit of Sekiro as well due to the mobility and focus on deflection.
Theres no stamina gauge or magic gauge, everything is tied to your spirit meter, which you build up with basic attacks and deflecting enemy attacks. So, if you use up too much spirit and the enemy hits you, you become stunned and open to attack, similar to Nioh in that regard.
Stats-wise, you choose between 5 elements, each of which gives you certain stat bonuses and resistance to its partner element, as well as bonus attack to its respective weapon. However, it also makes you less resistant to its counter element. So, if you focus on the fire element like I did, you get more resistance to metal but less resistance to water.

Beat the first Mass Effect for the first time last week and allow me to be the first to say it's a great game and if you haven't played it (even if it looks like it's not your style of game) you should.
Trying Fortnite for the first time ever the past few days and I'm surprised how much I'm enjoying it as well.
Also finally going into WWE 2K22, which has some fun Trophy Hunting. Love being able to play as Vader vs Yokozuna on the In Your House set.

I managed to grab a PS5 the other day and I’ve been having a blast with it but man, I think the controller in the speaker is so corny. Not sure why they left it in from the PS4 controller. I was playing Demon’s Souls and they say they recommend leaving it on “for a more immersive experience” but it sounds like a Tiger Electronics toy.

Doubly so considering how they seemed to be actively trying to make the home button more of a pain in the ass to use on the PS5 than it is on every other console on the market due to that stupid guide that shows up at the bottom with basically no benefit to it. |

I understand why they'd go that way, and I am sure it will likely see bigger sales because of it, but I would have preferred mechanics more akin to FF7 remake than it switch to basically just being a new God of War. |

Yeah I feel you there, the game looks awesome to me but even just a bit of classic RPG elements would help a lot in making it feel more true FF. I know experimenting and changing form is a major part of the series, but I still have hope a mainline FF will have turn based in some form again someday, but I imagine it's gonna be fully action based for a while unfortunately :/ |
