SVR 06 was the shit. Matches flowed so well on there.

We were playing again today. A load screen came up with Mickie James on it. He asks me who that is so I tell him.
"I don't like her", he says.
"Oh, I think she's kinda pretty", I say. (Truth be told it was really the only nice thing I could think of, I could really care a less).
..."I like her boobs". He's four.
Blood, chairs, violence; but I know what's going to get me into the biggest trouble with my wife now.

I played both the console and DS versions of this title. It's as close to "unplayable wrestling game" as you can get. WWE Immortals would like to have a word with you

Oh don't get me wrong, I was DAMN PROUD. But that line between "parental figure" and "best bud" got a little blurred.

WCW Mayhem was meh I liked the original SDvR WCW Backstage Assault=worst wrestling game since NES All star wrestling. So bad it made the ECW game look like a Halo Sequel

2006 was great, the last one I played for the entire year even though it had one of the worst rosters.

2006 was great, the last one I played for the entire year even though it had one of the worst rosters. It did, but it's still fun. As bland and contradictory the Road to WrestleMania storylines were for RAW (JBL could kick your ass & they still praise you the following week, plus Edge & Christian deserved their own victory cutscene), my favorite part was calling out Eugene for being stupid and playing as a heel the following match. 2007 had a better roster, but I hated the weight system because there was no fun in playing as a cruiserweight because most of your attacks are swatted off by bigger guys.

I was so excited for 2007. Slight improvements to GM mode, "improved" gameplay plus the likes of Finlay, Mr Perfect, Tazz, Super Crazy and MNM coming in...then I played it.

Also, small gripes, but Bam Bam Bigelow had no music & Cactus Jack didn't have Western Hardcore.

2006 was awesome. I loved the finishing move sequence where it would cut to widescreen, go black and white, slow motion, and have that heartbeat sound.
How have these games gotten worse?

Somewhat related:
For as much flack as people seem to like to give WCW VS the World, isn't it by far the best WCW game for the Playstation and probably the game-changer for North American 3-D wrestling games?

It's hard for me to choose my fave. WCW vs NWO Revenge is my favorite for the N64 at least, but all time fave may just have to go to Day Of Reckoning 2. The stamina system in that game was perfect. You could have the most epic matches. So damn satisfying.
WWE 2k14 is also really damn good, considering. It's up there, too.

I remember playing it for about a week when I got it for Christmas and realised online you didn't have to time reversals like the other games so matches were basically back and forth reversals. I stopped playing soon after and this game led me to only buy a WWE game once in awhile.

I think this is the only time I've seen 2006 get any love. I still have fond memories of Kurt Angle vs Randy Orton in a cage match at the Wrestlemania 9 arena. Don't know why, but those were great matches.

I guess 2008 did suck bad. I remember I got it for Christmas 2007, played it for maybe a week and stopped. I was also getting "out" of wrestling a bit at the time. But this was the first time I turned it on in eight years.

It was a weird middle period where they wanted to shake up the franchise, but didn't really make any drastic changes, so it got the short end of both the old and new.
