Am I the only one who hopes they don't just use the "identical ducks with caps" designs for Huey, Dewey and Louie? They weren't written well at all on Quack Pack, but I preferred the differing designs they had there. Anything that evokes Quack Pack in any capacity should be burned off the face of the Earth and the soul of humanity.

"Whoever you are! JUST RUN!"

I would love if they did an adaptation of "Christmas On Bear Mountain" for the first episode (after hearing that Donald will probably have a bigger role than in the original).

Donald being in there seems to mean they might be borrowing even more heavily from the comic source material, which I'm totally down for. He was kept off the TV show (besides a couple of episodes) because they feared he'd take the emphasis off Scrooge, the nephews, and any new characters.
And to be fair, a big reason why Huey, Dewey, and Louie all sound/look the same is that they'd actually share speech bubbles in the comics.

DuckTales was my favorite show in the early days of the Disney Afternoon, so I'm interested to see where this goes.

And now, the full theme:
Try getting that out of your head for the next 20 years.

.........and according to Terry McGovern (Launchpad), Disney is completely recasting for the reboot. Yup. A reboot. dafradio.net/2015/03/24/is-the-ducktales-cast-returning/Probably for the best, I guess. It's basically all a retelling of those Scrooge McDuck stories anyway, so it's more another adaptation than a remake. And I'd feel so much worse if Alan Young died before or during the show. Still, that sense of hope that was there before kinda......isn't now.

Not too surprised with that. Considering the age of most of the cast (Alan Young and June Foray in particular), it's not surprising they'd go with a fresh cast

I'm fine with that news. I'm happy they came back for the remastered video game, and I hope they can do the sequel if it gets remastered too, but Alan Young and June Foray are too old now. There's too good a chance one or both of them would have to be replaced because sooner or later they'll be gone.

Young and Foray are in their 90's. If they didn't recast it, I would have been completely shocked.

My excitement for this has decreased dramatically with this news. I think now I would've preferred them not to do the reboot. I know, Young and Foray are near the end of their lives, but they were Scrooge and Magica.
It's like all those Transformers cartoons with someone else playing Optimus Prime. Or someone other than Jaleel White playing Sonic. Or someone other than Lorenzo Music as Garfield.
It just doesn't work for me.

I thought Gary Chalk and David Kaye were perfectly servicable Optimuses, especially as they were so warmly recieved coming off the peak of the Beast era

I can see them being offered smaller stunt-casting cameo-type roles eventually, but I could also see them all just passing on it in solidarity.
Tony Anselmo would probably return as Donald, though; and since Russi Taylor (the nephews and Webby) is the voice of Minnie and Daisy, I'd say that would make her the most likely one to show up eventually, somehow...
