If he walks around like something off animal planet everytime he uses paint it will get old for me. I think a slow walk with him focused at the ring/his opponent before stretching his arms out in time with the white light/music would look more badass especially if he is really pissed off in his feud. Let's face it, a painted up man crawling is creepy but a painted up stoic man who barely moves is probably more intimidating.

I've been holding this one back, mainly out of fear of the backlash it's bound to receive, but if I'm not going to say it now, I really won't ever get the chance to, so here goes... Finn Balor's entrance when he dons the paint is SOOOOOOO LAAAAAAAAAAME. Don't get me wrong, the paint job itself is exceptionally awesome. But from his Boogeyman crawling to his Willow mannerisms, all I can think is how much of a f***ing goober this guy looks like. If he just showed up as Finn Balor with awesome paint, then we're getting somewhere. But when he wears the paint and bumbles out to the ring, all I can think is, "Man, not even Stardust is this much of a dork." This is pretty much where I'm at too.

He will switch it up. He's come out with some pretty bad ass looking getups. Zombie balor vs taker would be dope.
His entrance and costume/characters are some of my fav things about him.

I disagree with this topic tremendously. I think Balor's entrance is one of the coolest things in the WWE and it will continue to be one of the coolest things as it evolves.

It's cool, but that junk is going to get shortened tremendously when he hits he main roster. He'll probably get the full length one for his first week and then a condensed version thereafter.

I Could deal with it being toned down a bit. It'd also be better if his paint was a bit more different each time. This. Part of what made finn such an attraction was that you'd never know what he'd be painted as. However in an attempt to make money they came up with a design and likely won't alter it. Oh and like that other guy said, the head piece is f***ing stupid. But they did change it. the mouth and the colors were about the only things the same both times. The first was pretty much just the mouth was mostly black with red details. the second time the mouth was still there, but there was more red, the addition of a tounge... and there was a lot more detail on his back like the wings. But yeah, the headpiece needs to be dropped or edited greatly.

Get rid of the stupid dreadlocks and it's fine; otherwise I find it too silly.

The thing I hate most is his dramatic gestures that go to the music. It takes away from any supposed badass evil character he is supposed to have and seems too musical theaterish. By that logic, the idea that tapping into his sinister dark side requires sitting down for several hours while someone paints a demon mouth on his neck would hurt the entire concept far more. It's theatrical and over-the-top because it's a part of the persona.

Perception is a curious thing.
The psychologist in me wants to do a study of those that are just hating on it and those of us that absolutely love it and find zero fault with it and see if there's any overlapping factors in our upbringing.
The same comparison I want to do with the people who clamor that Orton is boring vs. those of us that don't see him like that. And then do those two comparisons have over-lapping members, and if so what is similar about us that our perception is the same. Then compare the people who hate on the entrance and hate on Orton, and overlapping people from both groups.
Versus people who are just never happy with anything at all ever.
I might do my thesis on this.

Does every new character have to be a stoic in order for fans to find them badass? I like his goofy dancing.

I disagree with this topic tremendously. I think Balor's entrance is one of the coolest things in the WWE and it will continue to be one of the coolest things as it evolves. This. I gotta say it, I don't even get what people mean by he looks like a doofus or he looks silly when he does his mannerisms and to me, that's counterproductive. This is a company who, since it's inception has had numerous characters. We have people like Undertaker, Mankind, Kane, The Bushwackers, you know the guys from the 80s, you KNOW the guys from the 90s, numerous countless guys who have weird, unique mannerisms who seem a bit out there. It's been that way for a great while. What did it do for these guys? It set them apart from the pack. It let's the audience see how creative and unique these guys are and it peaks their interest. It causes the audience to go "Wow, this guy's pretty interesting" and some might not like it, some like it but overall they at least have a thought about the guy. It makes a connection and brings out said character's individuality. Then you have some random wrestler who debuted sometime around idk 2002-2009 era who looks like a generic guy with a regular look, trunks and is basically a template of a SDvsRaw CAW. And Finn is the guy who's apparently a doofus? That's the exact opposite of what needs to be shown and I just don't get it. The more unique and creative a wrestler is, the better. That wrestler gets the connection. I just don't get it.

It's basically Boogeyman's entrance if he didn't have the clock, but I love Boogeyman's entrance so no complaints.

The thing for me is, it's hard to put it all together in a way that makes any sense. Why's he doing all that stuff? The crawling and somersault... fine, he's a sneaky animalistic ninja character. Or wait, the turning around and throwing his arms out with the music... okay, he's a crowd-pleasing superface? The generic walking and pointing... he's just a dude?
I just feel like, why's he doing all this? His entire character is that he has an entrance, and his entrance makes no sense, so...

It would be nice if he didn't use the same paint scheme everytime, otherwise what's the point? I want to be left asking "Man, I can't wait to see what he's going to look like next." rather than saying "Oh. Finn dresses like the Carnage symbiote on occassion. Cool, I guess..."
Other than that I have no complaints.

This is, in the past Balor HAS mixed it up and that's what made it cool. Problem is WWE would have to pay bookoo amounts of money for Balor to use some of his ideas. They'd rather have something they can market and something that is familiar. When Balor gets called up, I expect the paint to only show up if he's at the end of a blood feud, or at Wrestlemania in a title match.
I think the main reasons we've seen it in NXT is because Balor wants to show Triple H what he's invested in and also for Full Sail students to test the full capabilities of their equipment and creativity.

I feel like he should go two PPVs per paint design. Like, yeah, his shirts will go out of date quickly, but he could easily become super marketable.

Finn is awesome, let me get that out of the way.
Now, I really feel like this was an instance of giving the fans what they want, but once it's done... realizing it was too soon. When he came to NXT, the big question was if he would be allowed to wear the body paint. Well, it's a no-win situation... if they had him put it off until he was well established and in some kind of blood feud, there would be the complaint that he just isn't going to do it... how we wish he would be allowed to... how Triple H and Vince are holding him back from doing it, how that was such a cool part of his character and how it's stupid he can't do it. But, instead.... he dons it in his first feud... we're happy, we're relieved, we're excited... then he goes back to normal. Then, he brings it out again for Rival... yes, important match with Neville... but it was hardly something that required him to "tap into the darker side of his personality." So now the paint is expected for big shows... it's now not at special. He's still awesome, he's turning out amazing performances and I have zero complaints about how he has been booked.... but I kinda wonder if it was too much, too soon.
On the other hand.... he was brought in at around the same time as Hideo Itami. It has been thought that he has completely overshadowed Hideo with the bodypaint with everything... and now Finn is challenging Owens for the title and Hideo is in a feud wih Tyler Breeze for some reason. Don't get me wrong, I like Tyler and am glad he has something to do.. but it's a far cry from title contention. However.... Hideo has been saving the GTS. He's been teasing it, the fans know it's coming eventually, they want it, they can taste it, they even chant for it... and he's not giving it to them yet. You just know the first time he hits it, the roof is going to blow off. It'll but something that simple and subtle that can get his momentum back, to get him back on Finn's level... but as an individual. Unless he debuts some brand new signature moves, Finn has already kinda showed us his ace in the hole. Hideo still has that trick up his sleeve that he's waiting on.
