I have heard from a friend/co-worker who visited Mexico recently:
"You know the Mexican beer they sell here (Corona, Sol, Dos Equis, etc.)?
That's like buying Stroh's or Old Style here. That's the cheap stuff, not the good stuff."

I've not been to those countries. I did have Guatemalan food when I went to Guatemala, and that cuisine is similar to southeastern Mexico.

i had mexican food while in Mexico. one of the worst mistakes of my life. don't even know what the meal was called, it was some extremely dried chicken wrapped in a ten year old tortilla and covered in a mystery green sauce. i love mexican food but literally for over a year whenever i saw mexican food, or even just heard someone suggest it to eat, i felt like throwing up.
also, when i went to Canada i did have their national cuisine of Kraft Dinner

Spent a week in Puerta Vallarta and ate at local restaurants most every day. Tasted about the same as the better Mexican restaurants around Los Angeles. Probably because they use fresher ingredients and queso cheese.

Yes to Mexican, yes to Italian, yes to French , and yes to Chinese, but only if you count Hong Kong with the Chinese food part.

Well, I've been to French territory, but I don't think an island in the Caribbean really counts.

Never been to Mexico or China, so no. I've been to Italy, had some lovely pasta and seafood there. I've also been to France had bloody awful undercooked, oversalted onion-flavored everything there. People think the French putting onions on everything is just a stereotype. Well it's a stereotype for a reason.

Actually, I did have Mexican food while I was in Cancun. We actually found a beach-side restaurant with a lucha theme, with the likenesses of guys like Blue Demon Jr. and La Parka on the walls of the restaurant. It was seriously the best food we had during the vacation.
