Would you have bought it? I always thought Shane-O-Mac was a really underrated competitor with some neat matches under his belt. Never afraid to put his body on the line either.

Always liked Shane i would have taken a 2 month world title reign from him no problem.

No way. He is the embodiment of a yard tard who's dad owns a wrestling company.

He's the boss's son who wasn't an athlete and he shouldn't have been as competitive as he was. Shane had the chance to do things a lot of the other wrestlers probably weren't able to do, because he was the boss's son.

He had his niche, but no way could I take him seriously as a regular competitor unless he really hit the gym.

Not as a serious competitor but I could see it as a flukey, lucked out type champion. Say Shane, Vince and Rock vs. Austin, Foley and Taker, Control vs. Title and Shane crawls across Austin to get the pin after Taker turned heel. Shane plays it up for a month before Foley destroys him in a hardcore match or something.

In Smackdown: Know Your Role, he unified all the titles in Season Mode. Yes, his CPU was that good.

Would've preferred him over either of Vince's title wins, other than that, no.
Shane is a lot better than given credit for though.

No, I am not the type who thinks he can beat anyone up, in fact I think that most of the divas in the WWE can kick my ass. Shane is the only person in WWE history I felt I can kick his ass. The guy just seems like a wimp, sure he took big falls but all of them seemed very safe to me.

I never saw the allure of him as a competitor. Back in the day he was a good looking guy, but he always reminded me of that guy that always wanted to fit in with "the boys" and would do anything to look cool. All he ever did was throw weak punches and free fall off tall things, and take a cool bump or two. Granted his match with Kurt was cool, but that was all Kurt throwing him around. He was booked way too strongly for me to ever buy him as anything but a kid who wore baggy clothes to the ring, oh and steal RVD's move.

In a lot of ways, he's my favorite hardcore wrestler of all time. But that's the only belt Id' buy him with ... they could have cooked up some sort of interference shenanigans and had him win a strap with help for storyline purposes, but I wouldn't have accepted him as champ.

I always thought he was underrated, he more than held his own with the Street Fight against Kurt Angle and thats the best street fight ever in my opinion.

I don't think it hurts that he held the two lesser championships. Both reigns were storyline-driven and involved decent matches. No harm at all.

His street fight with Test is the main reason I rewatch SummerSlam 99. That said, I don't think a serious title run was needed for him.

To be honest, I never liked seeing him in the ring ever. Yeah, you'd get an impressive bump or him jumping off something high, but other than that he just wasn't a good wrestler (understandable of course, he wasn't a wrestler), and it always looked ridiculous having guys have to sell for him.

It was one of those 1999 things that made wrestling seem stupid. I really disliked Shane McMahon in competitive matches as a kid.
