The sooner that the Authority ends, the sooner the Local Men fall out of relevance. So what you're saying is the Local Men will be around for about the next 40 years.

My friend texted me and said he apparently started the "Please Retire" chant tonight.
I'll tell him that FAN thanks him.

Reigns Ruined Local Men needs to be what this thread is about because that's exactly what happened. It's insane to imagine that although Kane and Big Show were heavily booed, the moment Reigns gets any offense on them, the crowd boos and the also when Big Show attacks Reigns he's heavily cheered. Reigns is the kryptonite to this Local Men thing. Clearly that's what they need to do then - Reigns vs. the Local Men every week for the rest of time. Just please not in the main event or for very long.

There's no way that match wasn't put together to provoke the audience...

It says something when Show and Kane could be replaced with Mojo Rawley and Hornswoggle and people would more than likely consider it an improvement.

The hatred for them seems out of place especially consider this when Brock won the rumble in 2003 his singles match was against Big Show and Kane was one of the last two adversaries in the Rumble. It was very similar to how they are now being used against Roman. They both make huge credible opponents for people to overcome and have since the mid 90's. I think pair them both up with a young guy on a tag team and they would still be gold.

Kane I'm fine with, because someone has to play the role of someone who looks dominant, yet is there to take the pin on the way to getting hold of Rollins. But a Luke Harper or a Big E in that position, and people would moan about them essentially being buried, like people used to moan about Luke Gallows always losing in the Straight Edge Society.
Big Show, I've got nothing. He can play the same role as Kane, but doesn't because he rarely loses. He needs to turn face, and become a special attraction babyface like Khali was.

There's nothing worse than seeing these two stink up the joint every week. Big Show winning the ATGMBR was bad enough, but them continuing to main event is just ridiculous. It's so sad seeing how bad Kane is seeing as Korporate Kane could have been a gimmick which could have made him as entertaining as he was in Team Hell No.

I turned off the tv as soon as the main event entrances began. They've got to do something different with them. I think Kane should just retire and only wrestle on special occasions. Big Show is still impressive for what he can do, but there HAS to be better ways to use him. Him feuding with that Japanese fellow could be interesting.

The stupid thing is they manage to harm the guys they're supposed to be getting over, it's not even just their opponents now.
Rollins looked great against Lesnar and the crowd reacted accordingly, then it comes to the main-event and nobody cared no matter how much he tried to bring the crowd back around. Is that really the reaction they want for their first new world champion in several years? Don't get me wrong as a one-off match it's not going to do much long-term damage but why put him in that position in the first place?

I've always liked Kane, but there's absolutely nothing left for him to do at this point. It's time for him to retire.
As for the Big Buzzkill, well, he's only entertaining anymore when he's actively trolling a crowd that's heckling him.

Honestly, Big Show still has some use but not in the main event right now. Kane is just f***ing dreadful, man. There is absolutely nothing remotely good about him anymore. If this were EWR Kane would be at about 65 overness and still listed as an upper midcarder.

"Local Men"
I love how that's become their name now.

Collectively, they're a walking, talking, poke in the eye. I watched Show laugh along with the "Please Retire" chant, and I kept thinking, "No..we're not kidding. PLEASE retire." It just feels like things won't move forward in WWE because they must always find SOMETHING for these two to do. Sigh.

I would have posted 10 minutes earlier, but I was too busy laughing to be able to see my screen. To be fair, Big Show looks dominant. Kane looks like somebody's dad watering the lawn after his day at work.
