I'm saying y'all are jumping to all sorts of conclusions and coming out of your skin over something outright doesn't matter. Why don't you try to be a little less condescending in the future? I didn't attack anyone, I said people need to chill and you proved my point. Reactions like this are why I stopped posting for over a month and why countless others have flat out left the board. I'm actually not un-chill. I'm just wondering why the hostility. You did attack people saying they were showing "faux outrage". Again, look into what that actually means and you'll get why it's insulting to accuse people of it. Perhaps "unnecessary outrage" was what you were trying to think of, but "faux outrage" is insulting. I'm not doing this with you today Vern. You're just relentlessly posting in this thread hoping someone bites on your antagonizing. It's not cute and it's not worth getting in trouble over. I don't share your point of view and think the reactions to the topic are over the top and reactions to opinions that aren't outraged are even more ridiculous.

I'm not trying to start shit, nor get you or myself in trouble. I was just questioning you showing such hostility against people who were upset with WWE. If you want to post something insulting you should learn to deal with the reactions of the people you insulted. I explained exactly why it was so, and even gave you the benefit of the doubt and said that perhaps you meant something else and posted an example of what that might be. And rather than correct yourself you choose to blame me personally and act innocent. Fair enough man...

"Faux" is French for "fake". One definition is "to simulate". Shockingly, WM did not give people enough fodder for them to BE angry about the outcome. People were expecting to vent. Now that isn't happening, so the next (il)logical step is to make some convoluted (in their mind only) reference to a promotion 5-10% of the WWE know exists. When HHH offered his condolences on Twitter, I'll bet three out of four of his followers read that and thought, "Who?"
Some people simulate outrage just to be outraged. I'd like to think WWE has better things to do than rib a promotion in another country. (God, they must HATE Mysterio!) People need to stop drawing conclusion where there are none....or, get your tin foil hats shined.

I don't think anybody is drawing the conclusion that WWE did it as a reference to Perro, certainly not any of the people in this thread. The WWE have just done something incredibly boneheaded, and people are reacting to that. Logic dictates if something tragic happens recently, it's unwise to script something very similar happening for the purpose of entertainment within a couple of weeks, no? No malice, just a lack of thought.

I'm not seeing that much “outrage" or hate. Dunno why people are being called out.
I really doubt WWE was doing this on purpose. But they should probably be aware enough to go ahead and know to NOT use the same injury that killed a guy recently.

No, he wouldn't. He would say something along the lines "Personally, the likelihood that any connection to the tragedy that befell Perro Aguayo Jr. being used as a form of mockery is most skeptical, indeed". "Now if you'll excuse me, I need to go ignore my wife some more." And thus he's Tyson Kidd's favorite superhero.

I must be just as clueless, because I've never heard of that guy or the injury.

I must be just as clueless, because I've never heard of that guy or the injury. Perro Aguayo Jr. was a huge name in Lucha wrestling. Among other accomplishments he started the Perros Del Mal promotion. He died in-ring a week and a half ago due to a cervical vertebrae fracture (multiple actually). The last move he took was a dropkick from Rey Mysterio leading to an awkward landing in which he was trying to get in position for the 619 but he died on the ropes. It was a huge deal in the wrestling world man. Google would tell you a lot more than I can. There's video of the incident as well. There's no chance that WWE wasn't aware of it, which is why I don't think they should have done a fake injury angle based on the same injuries so soon.

Considering how much of an insular bubble WWE is, I'd say there's an extremely high chance that nobody on the staff (not including roster wrestlers) knew about it, and the only guy who I'd bet on knowing (Joey Styles) wasn't around to pick up on it and point it out to them. In the room where they wrote the angle, I'd put the likelihood of nobody knowing at about 98%.

Again, he was one of the top wrestlers in Mexico and he died in the ring alongside Rey Mysterio, Konnan and 2 current TNA wrestlers. It was a huge news story. He wasn't just some obscure lucha guy that only Styles or Tenay would know...

How often has it been said that they specifically DON'T want wrestling people hired for writing jobs?

Nobody thinks they did it as a goof... people are mad at them precisely for not paying enough attention. Vince likes for the writing staff to be made up of Hollywood TV types who don't give a damn about wrestling. How often has it been said that they specifically DON'T want wrestling people hired for writing jobs? So you're sticking with "the writers didn't know"? That's fine, but that would also require the assumption that Triple H, Stephanie and Vince don't read the scripts, since they all knew about it. Someone reading the script somewhere along the line would have known and should have said "wait...".

No malice, just a lack of thought. I can get behind lack of forethought, but it's like the whole anti-concussion zeitgeist. Is WWE just following the concussion trend as a hot topic? It would be insulting to Corey Graves or Christian to say, "So-and-so has a concussion", to move the storyline, I agree. I just don't get the implication that creative is that aware to purposefully write that.

It is possible for someone to pass, you to send condolences and not know the cause. The details aren't always important to everyone.

I see this as an unfortunate lack of awareness
There is no malice, there is no deliberate act or disrespect, just the POSSIBILITY that the writers were unaware wholly of the situation they were possibly putting themselves in and it slipped through the cracks
In my opinion they shouldn't have run with that injury, but lack of awareness, as mentioned earlier, nay well have been the cause

There's no way this was done on purpose; the WWE is far too brand savvy to do this intentionally. But they are also clueless enough to not think about the implications of a kayfabe injury report, which you'd think someone would have to proof before putting something like this on the website. Just another sloppy mistake by a company that doesn't seem to communicate well within itself.

Brock is the same man who legit broke another man's neck, the F5 is a move that designed for whiplash and can break a neck as well. Cole isn't a trained wrestler so it seems like a storyline injury to give someone what would you want Brock to do.
