WWE Games Thread 69: The Road to 2K16

I just bought the PS4 version. Its... okay. I like playing as Zayn. I like the graphic and presentation. I don't like the controls very much here. Reversals are sluggish and will randomly either work or not work. Stamina system is very lifelike, which somehow doesn't translate well to a video game. DLC Packs are lacking, but Rick Rude's entrance alone made getting the Warrior pack worth it.

Community Creations on PS4 doesn't have very much on it. I remember my favorite CAW creators on Xbox 360 uploading each year, this is a significant step down in quality and with about 4 months until the next title comes out, I really don't feel like downloading a moves pack that I'll give up on in a few weeks.

I also haven't seen 2K14's CC updated much in a while except for Neville's main roster attire (due to being an older game, of course), so I wonder if most of those creators are just waiting for 2K16 due to how disappointing 2K15 was?

Oh wow, so they haven't participated in CC for Xbox this year? I can't check because I'm on PS4.

I have the PS3 version of 2K14.  Not sure about Xbox 360.

Based on everything I've seen of 2K15, I feel really glad that 1), Smash Bros. and Pokemon coming out when they did kept me from being tempted to get the 360 version, and 2), I haven't bought a PS4 yet because if I had since I wouldn't actually want any of other the games already out for it to my knowledge I'd probably have ended up getting it.

In particular think the offputting thing's all the stripped out features. I always knew it'd happen because it's the series's shtick but at this point, I'm not interested in going back to having barely any CAW slots of options, not being able to create arenas, not being able to use custom music or genuinely customize entrances, not being able to make women, or losing all that other stuff they took out.

And being able to edit everyone on the roster's outfits entirely is cool and all, but Superstar Threads should still be in. Quick, easy, somewhat addictive way to easily add a little visual interest to the game.

People are still holding out hope that a lot of stuff that got taken out, like beards, hair, and being able to make Divas, will be put back in in 2K16. We'll see. Honestly, my hopes are about as low as low can get. Hopefully, more and more people will make mods for the PC version that will do the job that 2K seems to not want to do right now.

I may be being a huge pessimist, but I'm not expecting a PC version of 2k16. Also I'm expecting ALL Create a ______ removed from 2k16.

Honestly, I feel like the opposite is going to happen. The only reason the other create a features weren't in, was because Vince wanted his damn Christmas profits. It's unfair to say that they were removed, when they were never properly put into the game in the first place. The game was supposed to come out in April, and instead came out in November. That's around five months of development time. Plus, apparently, Chase Stevens said on his Facebook that they've already motion captured Create-A-Finisher stuff.

Yeah, a lot of these mistakes I can't blame on 2K. From the second they got the license it was reported that they wanted to release the games around Mania, but WWE won't let that happen. It makes sense to release it around Mania, because you could say that's when the next season begins, and look at every sports game they're released around when the season begins.

Well, I'm not quite that pessimistic.

I'll admit in my case it's more just that I'd rather assume the worse on WWE games and be surprised as opposed to the opposite.

It makes sense that things would be continually removed and added year after year. When we were kids we would have imagined that wrestling games would be by right now with new features constantly added and updated as the years went by to where we'd have battle royals with 30 men in the ring and such. But WWE and these game companies are not trying to make the best possible wrestling game, they just want people to buy the WWE branded video game year after year and continue to turn a profit. If they just spent a while a made the best wrestling game we can imagine, fully customizable etc, then there'd be no need to come back and buy a new game next year and shareholders wouldnt like that.

Please...for the love of god WWE please make the cover stars the Shield boys. Also for Showcase I still nominate these 2 modes:

- The Rise of Daniel Bryan: Play through Bryan's entire WWE history up until WM31
- The Hounds of Justice: Play through the Shields debut up until WM31 or, actually, I wouldn't mind them doing it up until Payback

Well, NBA 2K13 had Kevin Durant, Derrick Rose, and Blake Griffin on the cover, so I could realistically see them putting Ambrose, Rollins, and Reigns on the cover.

I'd just do that if I were them, because I'm going to wager that Roman Reigns would be on the cover solo this year otherwise.
