Oh man HHH just setup a match with Owen and Shamrock to determine who really is the "KING OF KINGS".

Oh man HHH just setup a match with Owen and Shamrock to determine who really is the "KING OF KINGS". And Shamrock, of all of them, won the match despite being the one to least benefit from winning the tournament compared to the other two. Also, as great as Owen was otherwise, he couldn't quite get Bret's ringpost Figure 4 right.

I'm on Fully Loaded at the moment.
The Raw prior to the PPV saw Dr Death Steve Williams debut and defeat "what's his name with the eye patch" in the Brawl for All.
Now if the rumours are to be believed and Dr Death was in line for a big push into the main event, what in the hell was JR/creative thinking?

"Pat Patterson raped me" sign(s) at Fully Loaded followed by "Bischoff has aids" on Raw the following night. Stay classy attitude era.

They seem to be adding 1997 episodes of Raw to the Network over the past few days, in the Raw Replays section rather than Raw Attitude Era. Episodes 192 to 200 are now there (January 6 to March 10), and two from August and September, which I think were there already.

I watched the monumental Raw when DX invaded Nitro. It's funny how the retrospectives play it off as a prank by the lovable DX when on the show JR and Cole basically act disgusted by it and JR even says why not worry about what you're doing in the WWF and not about the competition. X-Pac probably comes off the worst. His rant seemed to bitter for a promo, I get that he was actually fired and not that long ago, but it's still a wrestling show and it doesn't come off as a promo like how Austin's ECW rants did.

Watching the March 10, 1997 RAW. First time for the RAW is WAR Intro. This was probably the kickoff of the Attitude Era so please put up the rest of 97 quickly because I need to rewatch this consecutively.

The Brawl for all did nothing for anyone.
Bart Gunn gained nothing. He hasn't featured once since he was the tournament. No mention of his win either.

But on a positive note - post Summerslam begins the real rise of the Rock. It was so well done.
He saves D'lo from Taker/Kane one week. Then the next he cuts a great promo promising to take Kane down (which the crowd loves). The Rock becomes only the third man to pin Kane clean on a night when a hot crowd made him look like a star. Later that night he saves Mankind from the Undertaker.
Worth nothing that by this stage a lot of the crowd were into the Rock, especially the elbow. But his booking post Summerslam made it easy for the crowd to get onboard.

Episode 278 opens with Shane & Cornette on commentary (but no where to be seen at ringside). Shane's mic is way to loud.
Vince makes a triple threat between Rock, Mankind & The World's most dangerous man to kick off the show.
Next out are the Outlaws & X-Pac. Billy Gunn works the mic after Double J's attack on Road Dogg's throat one week ago. Road Dogg has brought out "idiot boards" for Billy Gunn to promo off.

They sent Shane & Cornette out to the commentary desk half way through match 1. I mean, I know it's recorded commentary but it at least looks better to have them sat there.

Not to mention how stupid they were acting in public before they made it to the arena. They acted kind of racist towards an Asian lady and a Pakistani (?) cab driver. Also asking random people where they can find "Mary" was a joke that went way over my head as a kid. I think DX might have still been heels at the time, even if they turned face the next week or so. That would explain the commentary.

Started rewatching RAW from the first one in 93 and all the PPV's in order. They put up all of 98 and just stop in March of 97 which is right when things turned awesome. I'm not gonna skip ahead to 98 until I get through 97 and they haven't uploaded any in 2 months. Frustrated isn't the god damn word for it... This is Bulls**t!!!

That would explain the commentary. They're in that tweener level, where the commentary plays them up as heels, but they don't do anything really heelish, they play up to the crowd mostly, though their feuds are mostly mixed with faces and heels. A part of me wonders if this was by design, that for a true anti-authority type group, you can't have squares like Cole or someone old like JR cheer them on. I almost want to give them, by them I mean Russo, credit, but I don't want to. The DX stuff is the most embarrassing to watch, not just for the risqué content, but on how uncomfortable some of them, mostly Triple H, looks doing all the silly gags and saying the bad sex jokes. It's like I can see in his eyes how he thinks he's a future World Champion and here he has to hide a super soaker in a trench coat and pretend he's going to expose himself.
