What Ottawa has done is freaking amazing. On Super Bowl Sunday, they were the 8th worst team in the NHL. Hamburglar gonna Hamburg. I don't think we will ever see this Disney like again unless they somehow win the cup. Here's some amusing reddit comments of the pre game of Andrew Hammonds first NHL Start

What a great ending of the season. LA is out. Boston is out. The Blues play Minnesota, which kinda sucks. But Steen and Tarasenko are back and they look great. And Winnepeg is definitely gonna get their ass handed to them by Anaheim. And if Nashville can upset Chicago, we have a chance.

This is gonna be a VERY interesting playoffs.
Two of the usual suspects- Kings/Bruins- are out. And even Chicago isn't exactly on fire themselves.
5 Canadian teams, with two matchups, guaranteeing 2 of them in the second round.
Colorado/San Jose/Dallas/Columbus/Philadelphia are not in the playoffs this year.
The East is wide open as hell. Other than Pittsburgh, I can see anyone else- yes, even Ottawa- going to June.
The West- well, how many of those teams are breathing a sigh of relief with no LA Kings? And Chicago is very vulnerable.

Hopefully missing out on the playoffs will force the wholesale changes that the Boston Bruins have desperately needed for about three years now.
The reason the Bruins missed the playoffs this season are two-fold: a lack of talent and an inability to put together long stretches of quality play on the ice. The lack of talent is directly attributable to general manager Peter Chiarelli, who put the team in salary cap hell with indefensibly bad contracts that forced the departure of key pieces.
Chris Kelly, Reilly Smith, and Dennis Seidenberg together are set to make north of $10.4 million in 2015-16 and there isn't a good player in that bunch. (Sorry Seidenberg, I loved everything you did during the 2011 Stanley Cup run, but you're more shot than Old Yeller). Meanwhile, because the Bruins are locked into bad long-term contracts, they had no recourse but to let go of Jarome Iginla last summer, then trade Johnny Boychuk for pennies on the dollar. This overall lack of talent reared its ugly head at the worst possible time, when the Bruins bled out in the final week of the season.
The inability to put together long stretches of quality play on the ice is directly the fault of Claude Julien and his dinosaur of a system. It's not 1995. Hell, it's not 2005. The pack-it-in, defense-first mindset won't win you a championship in today's NHL. You can't be afraid to let a player cut loose and be offensive-minded. The biggest myth of the Boston Bruins is that Julien values two-way players above all else. That's a lie. He values one-way players, as long as that one way you can play is defensive.
I'm so fed up with hearing, "Oh, but they had a good period. They really dominated that period," as they enter intermission tied 0-0. David Pastrnak and Ryan Spooner have the ability to be very talented offensive players, but as long as Julien's around, they'll get the same treatment as Tyler Seguin. Relegated to spare minutes, then dealt for spare change because they don't fit the system.
And don't even get me started on the Seguin trade. It was indefensible from day one and it alone should have been the reason for both Chiarelli and Julien to go. You have one of the best offensive talents in the league, but because of Julien's abhorrent system, he can't flourish. So Chiarelli thinks he's underperforming and trades him for a bag of pucks. Meanwhile, they hide behind some lame argument that Seguin was a party animal who couldn't be corralled, ignoring that Brad Marchand might not have been sober for one second after the Bruins won the Cup in 2011 and that Patrick Kane had his own personal demons, but the Blackhawks saw him through it instead of dealing him for next to nothing.
The championship of 2011 feels like it was centuries ago, and now it's starting to look more like a fluke than a sign indicative of what was to come. The run to the Finals in 2013 was buoyed by an absolute miracle they pulled out of their rear end in game 7 of the conference quarterfinals against Toronto. Aside from those two runs, here is how the Bruins have seen their seasons come to an end:
2008: 8-seed, eliminated in conference quarterfinals 4 games to 3 2009: 1-seed, eliminated in conference semifinals, 4 games to 3 2010: 6-seed, eliminated in conference semifinals, 4 games to 3 (lost 3-0 series lead to Philadelphia) 2012: 2-seed, eliminated in conference quarterfinals, 4 games to 3 2014: 1-seed, eliminated in conference semifinals, 4 games to 3 2015: missed the playoffs
The 2011 and 2013 seasons are outliers. They are the exception, not the rule. First- and second-round eliminations cannot and should not be tolerated. Both Julien and Chiarelli need to go and many moves need to be made to get this team back on the right track for 2015-16.

A look back at how I predicted the season going down:
-Can't believe only 3 of the 8 teams I predicted to make the playoffs in the West made it. -My prediction for the Stanley Cup finals hasn't changed. Still think the Rangers will beat the Blues for the Cup.

Yay Staios good for him! Anyways I love how Jamie Benn got 4 points last night to win the Art Ross And yet, some people on a popular hockey forum are discrediting his efforts because he didn't hit 90 points and hia name ian't Sidney Crosby or John Tavares. Some hockey fans are ungrateful sons of bitches.

Some hockey fans are ungrateful sons of bitches. Yup Dallas playing LOL DEFENSE AND WUTS GOALTENDING hockey really hurt them this year especially on how this was the year of Goaltending and the most dead puck year in decades. They could of been a great team this year. Seriously is 87 points the lowest point total for an Art Trophy winner in a non lockout year? *checks wikipedia* The only other lower points happened in the 40's, 50's, and once in the 60's. I think they played less games as well. Dammit why is the Draft Lottery so much later then other years. I can't wait for Saturday. Also can we speculate Tyler Seguin party animal antics missing practice and being scratched in the final game this season? I'm glad Jamie Benn still got the Art Ross without Seguin's help but Jesus man! His punishment should of been making sure Jamie Benn gets points.

Jagr reups for one year with the Panthers. Kinda disappointed because I wanted him to play for as many teams as possible and signing somewhere else and being traded elsewhere doubles the amount of teams
