-Has been given more chances than anyone in WWE history to succeed. And knocked it out of the park pretty much every time. The only time he really failed was with his face run, and even then he was getting pretty decent reactions. Miz got where he was by working hard and succeeding with everything WWE gave him to do. Sure, he got a massive push, but a massive push doesn't mean guaranteed success. Miz took the ball and ran with it, while guys like McIntyre bombed. With how long wrestling has been around, everybody cribs their act from someone else. Doesn't matter if you're Rollins, Wyatt, Ambrose, Jericho, Punk, Cena, Austin, Hogan, HHH, or Lesnar, your act has been done before. All you can do is make it work for you.

He's managed to stay employed this long. That's quite an accomplishment. When I think of others who have either come and gone or aren't getting the pushes he gets...it's mind boggling. He's not even that good of a heel. Wow...he says shitty lame insults to the crowd. Anyone can do that and get booed. No talent required. That's been his whole career. Thanks to thier love for garbage reality tv. WWE has barely acknowledged Miz's reality TV career over the years. They said it a lot when he first showed up. As well as his original music was called "Reality" and had an opening riff that I am positive was taken from an old MTV bump. not to mention his ECW Finisher being the Reality Check. Hell his "Show" being called Miz TV is a blatant reference as well. I don't hate Miz but they make references to his reality show days a lot.

On your first point, he failed as wwe champion, which is why he hasn't sniffed the title or the main event since. I've always said it that Miz is a good talker but his match quality never equaled his ability to speak. As champ, you have to be able to hit a higher gear in big time matches, and miz couldn't do it. On your second point, yea, things are cribbed, but it's usually 7 or more years before things repeat. Miz took things that people did a year before and tried to make it his own. Very unoriginal on his or the office's part.

Very unoriginal on his or the office's part. I disagree on him failing as WWE champion. He was perfectly serviceable despite being booked poorly, and stayed in and around the title picture for another year. However, once Punk really started stacking months up on his reign and was working with the likes of Bryan and Jericho, who nobody argues are better talents, there just wasn't much for Miz to do so he slipped into the midcard mire out of which few escape. Miz isn't the only guy on the roster to suffer that fate - Sheamus and Ziggler being two of the more obvious examples. On the act cribbing, WWE wound up making everyone who they deemed important fit into the serious, slow-speaking heel role Jericho had popularised at the time, so I don't think you can put that one on Miz. In any case, it fit well on Miz, who had both the charisma and the chip on his shoulder about wanting to be taken seriously to pull it off. Compare that to someone like Swagger, who hilariously went from a goofy jock to the serious heel in the time it took for his hand to be raised after winning the WHC.

It's hard to show off your ability to put on big title matches in main events when you are stuck main eventing against Lawler for your whole reign. And his matches with Cena weren't bad at all but it's hard to make an epic match when there's run-ins and distractions like The Rock getting involved. If Miz had gotten a steady 1v1 feud with Cena that didn't involve Rock, or a feud after Cena against someone like Orton or Edge we would have seen much more out of Miz.

Miz ain't main event level talent; at least he shouldn't be/have been. He's fine and even good right where he's at; he's achieved the perfect equilibrium really. He's middling in all respects, but dude does have talent.
