^But they've had battle royals before WrestleManias before. Crap, Yoshi Tatsu won one year; probably the biggest thing he's ever accomplished in his time there. Says a man who clearly doesn't remember his epic feud with Tyson Kidd on NXT Redemption.

But WWE and NXT are different brands.
Triple H said so, it is a law.

I thought it was just a nice gesture from WWE to one of their veteran workers. Didn't really have a problem with it. I respect what Big Show has done in WWE, but at the same time I He has accomplished enough that he doesn't need a "nice gesture" in the form of accolades from WWE . To me a "thank you" achievement should be for guys who had potential for greatness, but due to injury, politics, bad timing, or just being too nice of a guy to step on other people never fulfilled their destiny.

Nothing that isn't entertaining should be done as a "thank you" to anyone on TV. Period.
That's basically saying "What we're doing is shitty and subpar, we're just doing it to be nice". Imagine going to Walmart and the manager said "I'm sorry, you're not going to get to checkout for the next 2 days. As a thank you to their great service, we're giving them a break."
No one wants to watch that bullshit.
We're the ones watching. Anything and everything should cater to us, period. Else we stop watching.
No "thank you runs", no "homages", only "What do the people that are 100% responsible for our business function want to see?"
Sometimes they do indeed coincide. If they don't? Then don't do it.

Because having a giant win a memorial battle royal for a giant makes sense. Also if they have Show win it for the next 2-3 years it will mean something when someone eliminates him.

Until the night after that WM when the guy who eliminated Big Show loses to Sheamus in two minutes following a Brogue Kick

If the Battle Royale didn't get much hype as a marquee match or had interesting storylines heading into place (Miz vs. Sandow) than I wouldn't Big Show winning, but God Dammit that Battle Royale could of been the satisfactory climatic finish of Miz vs. Sandow feud and put over Sandow huge. Then again this is the company that double goofed Sandow thrice this year by killing all momentum of his feud with Miz, losing the feud on Raw, and now is a Macho Man gimmick.

I believe what Square meant was "Also, if they have Big Show win it, for the next 2-3 years it will mean something when someone eliminates him". In other words, as opposed to the Royal Rumble, where they big up his chances of winning because he's big but we all know he's never winning it, there will actually be tension with the AtGMBR because he has a precedent of winning it.

So we could see him doing this next to a trophy every week ![](http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-JfS_cp5rvcw/UKJG2eeeUgI/AAAAAAAAF3w/fKFQwLT8rPY/s1600/sagat+rindo.gif) Honestly, Sagat doesn't even look like he's laughing there; more like he's chilly.
