More Austin aires @austinaries: Just because you have the "scoop" doesn't make you a #GR8 reporter. Knowing when it IS and ISN'T responsible to share that scoop does. Meltz gave Dixie like a three day heads-up that the story was gonna break. That sounds pretty responsible to me. By that rationale, Woodward and Bernstein shoulda just kept the whole Watergate deal to themselves. |

ROH costs a fraction of what TNA costs. The problem is not that TNA brings in worse ad rates than the other stuff on Destination America, it's that ad rates for wrestling do not make up for the high cost of production. TNA still generates more ad revenue than The Search For Squatchfoot, but not nearly enough to make up for what they're paying for. Since ROH is essentially being purchased for syndication, DA does not have to front money for anything and thus has a show that will do similar numbers and bring in similar ads at a risk-free price. Russo's opinions are like someone who is overhearing other people talk and figures he has enough information to make a statement (and a loud one at that). Notice how he says that he has never seen an episode of ROH...then demands that they "show [him] something." Off topic but you just gave me the name of my finisher ...Vince Russo is an idiot driver? |

Those delusional fools. Why would you ever stand up for a company(really, it's standing up for Dixie) that has jeopardised your livelihood through repeated instances of complete stupidity? Not to mention the blatant disrespect shown to you by their "Everything is awesome" talk. If they gave a damn about the wrestlers, they wouldn't run that "You control your destiny" bullshit. The only #standup that should happen is the roster standing up to jump off this sinking ship.

I have been reading this thread from the beginning, and just had so much fun with the roller coaster going on.
This is all absolutely glorious. What a fitting, poetic way for TNA to go. WCW and ECW's demises were tragic. ECW went bankrupt despite still having passionate fans, playing to good crowds, and having everyone work hard. WCW had just seemed to be turning the corner and putting on a halfway decent product when Jamie Kellner decided to pull the plug out of the blue.
This...this is just so, cartoonishly, karmically awesome, I can't stand it. The most incompetent wrestling organization that ever lived, ending in the most spectacularly embarrassing, self-destructive way possible. Truth is stranger than fiction.
Look, I'm not happy that people will be out of their jobs, but I'll argue time and again: it's mercy, by this point. TNA is too dysfunctional to live.
I seriously cannot wait for the WrestleCrap book.

This news seems to have broken poor Bobby Roode. Though...in reality, it's hard to blame him. If I had just realized I'd wasted my prime years giving my body to a company that literally didn't give a single soggy shit about me.....yeah, I'd be pretty bummed too.
