WWE's talent roster is the best its been for years.
Just a shame the creative team roster isn't.

I'm not a huge Joe fan, but dammit that was awesome and I'm excited for Owens/Joe to beat the shit out of each other... and that's just in catering!

It appears he is initially working on a non-exclusive deal. He is working independent dates until at least August. I hope it eventually ends with him being full-time and moving up to WWE. dave Joe right now has a Rhyno-like deal in the sense he's still working indies but will also work some NXT dates. Hmm. Something to consider is how quick they got the shirt up. I'm don't think they've ever had merch for a guy who isn't under a normal contract. Granted this hasn't happened that often, but there's nothing for Kendrick if you search on WWE Shop, nor is there anything for Rhyno, who was on the show tonight. Hell, Rhyno had to wear a generic NXT shirt in the ring even. I get the feeling everything is in place for Joe to sign a long-term contract, but they're only going with this non-exclusive contract till all the indie dates he had scheduled run out.

Yeah, seems it might be more than we thought:
HE DEBUTS! [UPDATED] by Mike Johnson @ 9:51 PM on 5/20/2015
Former Ring of Honor and TNA champion Samoa Joe, called by that name, debuted at the end of the WWE NXT Takeover: Unstoppable show for a staredown with Kevin Owens. He was treated by the crowd as if he was an absolute star.
Joe was brought backstage just a minute or two before he came out in front of the crowd.
While the assumption among many was that Joe was working a similar deal to Rhino and Brian Kendrick in that he's still adding independent dates, it should be noted NXT was selling Samoa Joe t-shirts (the same one he was wearing tonight) as fans were exiting the taping and the shirts are also up on sale at WWEShop.com. That would certainly indicate a greater deal. As soon as we confirm, I'll have more.
There were a number of people inside TNA worried Joe was going to debut tonight. Well, they were right to worry.

Also helped with Kevin Owens faces completely selling the "Oh sh**" moment this was. Cannot be understated. This may be the first time we've seen Kevin Owens look afraid of somebody. That was huge.

You know those people who bet when Joe would go to WWE, they would bring him in as "Samoa Joe" in 2005? They're about to cash in big time.

Needs a new theme, but im pumped for the name. The godzilla open is ok, but the main song has to go. TNA actually did a great job with Joe's theme emulating the vibe from the indies

...why did he come out to funk music? Right!? It was like the music from the cut-scenes in No Mercy. Honestly kind of f***ed the whole thing up for me. Also, the beginning sounded like "U-HAA U-HAA" so I thought this Uhaa guy was coming out.

Just... substantially less badass.

Just... substantially less badass. The intro Godzilla thing was fine, but then it got really quiet...and funky. If he came out with a dog collar on as Junkyard Joe, the music would've fit. But even then, they'd need to turn it up.
