You Can't Do That on Television C.O.P.S.? Make the Grade? Bravestarr? ------------- By the way, I'm no expert, and I just try to sample everything I can get my hands on in historical and modern pop culture, but in post-apocalyptic society, the way to rebuild children's upbringing should be playing old tapes of 80s/early 90s Nickelodeon. Pretty sure that's what I've gathered from hours upon hours of research. I loved You Can't Do That on Television. I think there's a site that even had old episodes of it up.

Anybody remember The Bots Master? I watched that show sometimes. Plus the theme song was rather catchy.

My 2 favorite shows to watch after school in 6th grade were Mega Man and Mighty Max. I'll still go back and check out episodes on YouTube every now and then. Both hold up surprisingly well, I think. I don't hear people talk about either very often.

One that never seems to be mentioned when 80's cartoons are being discussed is Visionaries.

The Renford Rejects- Nickelodeon UK series about a group of five a side no-hopers. A fantastic Britpop orientated soundtrack and loads of cameos from some of the biggest footballers of the day, everything the 10 year old me looked for in a show. I loved the Rejects. That one who pretended to be Italian and the team's manager (stuart I think he was called) were mt favs. Great show. The soundtrack was excellent.

I'll mention Animals of Farthing Wood. Amazing. Brutal for a kids show too... when the hedgehogs got killed traumatized me as a child. And when Mr Pheasant got shot

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Genie_FamilyOriginally released in Japan by Tatsunoko productions the English rights were purchased by Saban entertainment in the early 90's where it was shown as Bob In a Bottle. While I wouldn't call it a favorite I do recall watching it a lot when I was much much younger as YTV used to play it every weekday morning. While no one on this side of the pond really remembers it (The franchise was still big in Japan with two spin off series', a 2013 movie and the genie appearing in the Japanese version of Tatsunoko vs Capcom.) It must have been a moderate success for Saban as clips from it appeared in two episodes of Power Rangers.

Kids today with their cartoons, pfft. Just doing a random search for "1970s kids shows", as that was when I watched the most children's TV. I found two gems I remember seeing every Sunday morning before church:
The Gigglesnort Hotel (Chicago young 'uns know this one; 1975-78) Hot Fudge (Detroit exclusive 1974-75; syndicated nationally 1976-80)
(Then again, I also watched The Magic Door on CBS, which was a Sunday morning cartoon aimed towards Jewish kids; started in 1962, ending around 1982. Odd bit of trivia: Dan Castellaneta voiced the show semi-regularly.)
Thanks guys, now I have both the theme from Gigglesnort and Magic Door stuck in my head. A pox on your houses!

Need to bump this thread for Zoobilee Zoo; my cousins and I loved it so much when we were little that when they stopped running it, our grandmother called the network to say how sad it made us all.
And yes, for preteen HMark, the best semi-obscure cartoon was definitely Mighty Max. I mean, holy shit, Rob Paulsen, Tim Curry, and Tony Jay lend voices to a show that has everything a 10-12 year old boy could want to see in one:

Fillmore was an interesting premise. Hmm, I really liked Aahh!! Real Monsters, if that counts. I don't see it mentioned a lot, but it was a lot of fun. I'd say it is for sure one of these least mentioned Nicktoons. I've been meaning to watch it on Amazon Prime to see how it holds up. I "fear" not well. Puns. Its on my que, angry beavers has held up nice. I'll add catdog, biker mice from mars, the knights of the round table cartoon and mighty max
