Dwyane Wade and the Heat are reportedly at an early impasse on his contract negotiations. Wade reportedly wants to opt out of his contract this summer, with the hope of landing a lucrative three-year deal with Miami. However, the Heat would prefer he opts in to his $16 million deal and then signs a good, but not huge amount of money in 2016. There's reportedly a "sizable gap" on what Wade hopes to earn and what the Heat are prepared to offer, and Wade is reportedly now open to considering other teams this summer if Miami doesn't present him with a number to his liking. Dwyane Wade is a 33-year-old (turning 34 next January) combo guard with the mileage and wear and tear from nearly 1,000 NBA games. He's coming off a season in which he shot his worst field-goal and two-point field goal percentages since 2007-08, with point, assist, and rebound per game figures decidedly lower than his career averages. At this point, well into the back-nine of his career, he's closer to being a complimentary piece than a reliable, night-in and night-out superstar. This was my long-winded way of saying I don't understand how Wade thinks he'll be able to opt out of a $16 million deal and find a better one on the open market. Only 15 players in the entire league are slated to make more money than Wade in 2015-16. If he opts out, there's no earthly way any franchise gives him a better offer than what he's currently signed to.

I love and miss the NBA on NBC theme and Jim Fagan's voice so much that I did something incredibly dorky. If this ever really happened, I'm pretty sure I'd cry. app.box.com/s/4cxhuukyzfpkjx125kcxgo0grxqf9vvxIn the wake of some scary moments for Stephen and Klay, games 4 & 5 vs Houston showed me a kind of toughness and resilience I wasn't sure if Golden State could find after such a healthy regular season. Klay finally found his shot again and they crashed the boards at a whole other level. I'm still worried whenever a team can potentially compete with their level of perimeter shooting, but now I'm ready for anything. No matter what happens, I'm so proud of Stephen for making it so far, so fast.

At least three’ Bulls starters ripped Tom Thibodeau during exit interview
From Dan Bernstein of CBSChicago.com:
#Bulls sources: at least three starters ripped Thibs in exit interview, said they’d avoid team facility this summer if he were still there.

Umm, how was Thibbs supposed to know that this year was going to be filled with what seemed to be constant injuries to Derrick Rose? If anything they should be thanking him, especially considering how far they got despite the injuries.

Not surprising considering how the entire team obviously quit against the Cavs.

Watch Wade end up in Cleveland for like the vets minimum I don't think it'll happen, but the irony would be funny, I won't lie. I know this is getting ahead of the game here. But if Cleveland wins the championship this year, do they repeat? With a healthy returning Love, Anderson, obviously Lebron, and a few key players remaining there, is a repeat possible?
Reason I ask is because I can't see the East improving enough to put up that much of a fight save for Washington, Atlanta, and Chicago.

Honest reality, save from some Season ending injury from James or Irving, Cleveland will most certainly advance again to the Finals next year. Outside of the three you mentioned, the only other teams that are definitely PLayoffs bound are the Pacers and Heat (on the grounds that they aren't plagued by injuries agian) and even then Cleveland would still be the odds on favorites. To be real, there won't be a power-shift in the East until the Cap increases the Season after next.

But they also want to resign Dragic and hold onto Luol Deng. Honestly, Wade would be putting them in a bind if he's really demanding more money.

Honestly, Wade would be putting them in a bind if he's really demanding more money. Also, if Hassan Whiteside ends up with better stats than he had last year, he's probably going to eat up some salary cap money as well. Personally, I think the Heat should do what it takes to keep their franchise player satisfied, because I'd hate to have to go through this again like last year with LeBron. If they didn't come to terms with D-Wade, I would understand why, but it's going to feel very strange not seeing D-Wade in a Miami Heat uniform because of what he has meant to this franchise.

I have a feeling that this will be a very entertaining Finals. I really don't care who wins and I hope it goes 7 games.

The rumors are circulating that Hoiberg will sign with the Bulls. All of my ISU friends are very upset. Some of the rants equal "you sold out" chants.

I'm a big Iowa State Fan and donor... I get why he'd go to the Bulls even though it makes me sad.
I halfway think he'll come back to ISU to retire after he gets fired in 5 years in Chicago.
