Since they're starting to implement the network special event things I wouldn't be surprised if they started weening off the big PPV's starting with Mania and maybe the Rumble to PPV only, followed by network streaming after all the PPV timeslots have finished.
That way they still have the monthly special events to sell along with the lower tier PPV's, and take back the PPV monies. The biggest question though would be if the PPV networks would only offer them lower shares because of the circumstances, and how they undercut them with the network.

People aren't stupid. As soon as you start charging more than few bucks extra on certain months, they'll cancel and watch on streams.
If it was 2 bucks more, no.
$25 vs $10? You're looking at a bunch of people saying f*** it and streaming. Then maybe not renewing besides.
That's a strategy that loses money.

Ya, if the price got raised I would just cancel my subscription. $10 a month is fine right now but any higher and it's probably not worth it for me, where I can go days without watching anything on it at all right now. Before the network I used a streaming website that I'm pretty sure wasn't legal, but also was free, to get ppv's and I'd probably just go back to that again if they raised prices. The older content that they put up is great but wouldn't be enough to get me to pay extra, I've already seen most of it and the majority of stuff I haven't is because I'm just not interested.
On the bright side, the network has saved me a ton of money on DVD's. Haven't bought one in a long time.

Once WWE's monthly subscription price turns more Brazzers than Netflix, it's time to cancel.

People who have good enough Internet service to watch WWE Network can also stream illegally and it's just as accessible. With more and more people cutting cable entirely, it's more important than ever that WWE keeps people watching PPVs on the Network.

Who was being indulged? Everyone portrayed has been long dead! Regardless, there's 10,000 titles with many, many of them quality. A quick glance: Fargo The Conformist Silver Linings Playbook Hoop Dreams Django Unchained Blue Velvet Heavenly Creatures Inglorious Bastards The Big Lebowski The Exorcist Jerry Maguire Glengarry Glen Ross Annie Hall This Is Spinal Tap Wet Hot American Summer Hot Fuzz The Last Waltz The Bicycle Theif Dead Man Walking Trainspotting There, 20 movies. All better than Sharknado 2. Yeah but I've seen all of those! Oh. Coffee's for closers. You never open your mouth unless you know what the shot is.

On the bright side, the network has saved me a ton of money on DVD's. Haven't bought one in a long time. This type of attitude worries me. $15 a month for all ppvs? Nope too much. Back to 6 month minimum contract? Nope too much. If they'd started by offering it at $0.99 you'd probably still complain with talk of a price raised. And you freely admit that you've saved money on dvds. Clearly the Network is very undervalued for the service they provide. But that won't do for you huh? No you're happy to go back to stealing if they ever raise the price by a single dollar. If, as you say $12 is really too much for you, surely you can collect a few bottles and return em at 0.10 cents each to get dat $2? I do think that $25 is too much, for the streaming video market. But 9.99 for basic service and 14.99 for the months with the big 4? Perfectly fine with me. Hey I used to be like you. I used to have tons of roms on the basis of 'I can't play it anywhere else' Then companies started doing PS Now and the VC and Live Arcade. It became harder for me to justify it to myself. Especially when some updated versions such as the 3D classics exist. So I finally dumped all of them. While I appreciate not everyone can afford x y and z, and in fact some projects may never have been made without roms being available (Sonic CD remaster, I still think it's better to support the work by paying for it via the proper channels. But it's your call maybe you really are on the breadline as it is? and want to support the company but an extra cost will bankrupt you? I know it's your money, and you can do what you want with it. I can't force you to do anything. I am just sick and tired of people acting as if paying for stuff is only what stupid people do.

You know what Mania HD costs here? Like $80. So now I get every last PPV for $13. All of them. Plus, I'm lucky enough to have all the back shows too, on-line, plus a channel, which is just the stream but on an actual TV station. $13. I haven't ordered a non-Big 4 PPV for a few years, but I think it was like $55. For one show. Now I have that show. On the Network. Work out the numbers and basically, you're MAKING money having the WWE Network.

I can't force you to do anything. I am just sick and tired of people acting as if paying for stuff is only what stupid people do. I apologize for apparently offending you. I didn't mind the 6-month commitment and I probably would have gotten the network at the beginning even if it was $14.99 instead of $9.99. I'm just saying that in my particular case, even $9.99 a month is something that if I had to sign up today I probably wouldn't bother. I have a full time job, coach three sports, and have other commitments that take priority over watching wrestling. It's not that I can't afford a price increase, it's just that at this point a price increase would probably mean that I'd give it up because the cost to entertainment ratio would be tipping into the negative for me. I don't mind supporting the WWE or any other organization that entertains me, but what I'm saying is that the current ppv's aren't worth it to me. The archived footage is cool but it's nothing I haven't seen before for the most part and I went years without seeing it before the network was a thing, it wouldn't be a big deal if I didn't see it again. I suppose what I'm really saying is that I'm not as into wrestling as I used to be and now that I've had the network for over a year and have seen a lot of the older stuff I was interested in I don't think I'd want to pay any extra for it. I appreciate your opinion and respect where you're coming from, but I can find better things to do with $120 or more every year. It's also worth pointing out that a billion dollar company apparently didn't have the business acumen to accurately project our how many people would be willing to buy this service in order to not lose money.

Even before I found a streaming website I used to just follow them on the boards here or wake up Monday morning and look at the results. No ppv has ever been worth ordering for $80 or even $55. Maybe I'm just cheap, in fact I'm definitely cheap, but I can't fathom paying $80 to watch a ppv. I felt the same way about the Mayweather/Pacquio fight everyone wanted to order. I personally get more satisfaction out of watching my bank account grow. If the ppv was really that great, I'd just buy the dvd later for a quarter of the price.
