Andy Martino reporting Mets rookie Steven Matz out several weeks with a lat issue. Unreal. *bangs head*

The injury is a torn lat so surprise, Matz will miss a ton of time.
See you in 2016 I fear.

Only highlight of the Pirates game tonight (during a rain delay)
Yes. To the tune of Gangnam Style.

Are we sure that Citi Field wasn't built on an Indian burial ground?

Mariners recalled 1B Jesus Montero from Triple-A Tacoma. Remember when he was the heir apparent to Jorge Posada?

Is it me or does it seem like the Mets have the worst medical staff in sports?

I don't get it. At all. It's kind of a small horse, I mean what am I missing? Am I crazy?

Is it me or does it seem like the Mets have the worst medical staff in sports? You kinda have to wonder given all of the major injuries the past few years

The Mets keep hanging around. If they can make it to September close to the division lead with all of the injuries they've been hit with, I'll be happy as hell

Being a Toronto sports fan has to be worst in North America. Even Cleveland can at least make the playoffs once in a while in baseball, and the Finals in the NBA. Now that the Royals are a playoff team, the Toronto sports scene has to be the worst in North America by far over the last 20 years.
(Or maybe that's just depression from seeing Noah Syndergaard's stat line tonight).

Though hey, at least the Jays won a World Series far more recently than any Cleveland team.

Looks like the Jays are going to be under .500 before the All-Star break

Though hey, at least the Jays won a World Series far more recently than any Cleveland team. The Raptors are the dictionary definition of a treadmill team. Not good enough to do anything meaningful in the playoffs, not bad enough to get elite talent in the draft. That's the worst spot to be in sports. Either be really good or really bad. In between is a ticket to no where. A few 45-50 win seasons and first round knockouts are not anything to celebrate, IMO, even for a franchise as laughable as the Raptors. The Blue Jays have scored more runs than anyone in baseball, have a run differential of +79, a pythag of 52-37 despite losing its best starter before the season (Stroman), yet are a game under .500 and closer to last place in the East than first. I'm convinced that some time between Joe Carter's home run and the start of the 1994 season, something happened to cause a sports curse in that city. Just have to find the culprit and perform the appropriate sacrifice.
