Kane never really reached full local status for me. Even with the garbage he's been handed in this current run, he's occasionally knocked it out of the park when given something to actually work with (the concession stand segment, the mini feud with Rollins).
Big Show has had a few moments of interest, but for the most part has been this since he entered the company. The last time I genuinely cared about him was during his run in ECW. What good will he did have dried up pretty fast with how much talent they've fed him and as a result derailed over the years. Specifically during the last few years of the brand split when he was stalling out Punk and Cody, Dolph, Swagger and numerous others.

Kane stopped being entertaining after Team Hell No.
Big Show has been my personal Local Man since I started watching in late '99. From the feud w/Bossman, being shoehorned into WM 16, ANYTIME he cried, 15,000 heel/face turns, and esp. this year's Rumble.. he's always been awful in my book.

Kane's current role is just baffling to me - he takes up so much time and is involved in so many high-profile matches that I'd go as far as to say he's the worst part of the show now. But before that, Kane was Team Hell No for me. I realize he was pretty well-liked in general at that time, so I'd say right after they split he should've been put out to pasture. As for Big Show, he still has his moments (the Sheamus feud from 2012). But for the most part, he's been done for awhile in terms of overstaying his welcome. I'd say that awful "I'M BROKE" storyline from 2013 was his final straw with me. Putting him and Orton in a main event title match got exactly the kind of reception it deserved.
Just for the sake of making it even, 2013 for both of them. That's when they both should've became special attraction guys who only had a few matches a year. Basically like Mark Henry currently, only without being completely pointless without build.

Kane was my favorite wrestler once upon a time, it's sad to see what's become of him as a corporate tool... ![:'(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/cry.png) Big Show's always been a massive turd though. Squashing Punk was a pretty stupid moment, but him ruining Cody Rhodes' big push as IC champ that was starting to give it some prestige up until then stuck out as a major pissing off moment for me, shortly accompanied by that awful ironclad contract storyline, where that word was embedded into my brain with how much they said it. Since then he's just been consistently awful. 2012 Demon Kane was awesome though, I remember once on Smackdown he randomly came out and wanted a title shot just because it was Friday the 13th or something like that.

Kane made a fresh and new Wyatt Family look like bumbling idiots during their Ring Of Fire match.
Any sane person would look at that and decide maybe it's best he doesn't make up and coming talent look that bad in the future.
However somebody, persumably Vince, looked at it and thought that should be the basis of his new charachter.

The last time I enjoyed either man was 2013.
Early 2013 for Big Show when he was World Heavyweight Champion. He was entertaining and had some really good matches with Sheamus and Del Rio. Then he got involved with the Authority and that was the end of it.
Late 2013 for Kane when he first became corporate. It had potential and was a fresh take on the character. Quickly turned to shit though.
also, Big Show > Kane

Kane had been going downhill since he unmasked all those years ago.
Big Show has always been a Local Man to me. He's never done anything entertaining other than the Boss Man/dead father feud and telling everyone he was broke after investing in strip malls.

I remember just getting sick of the Big Show when he threw John Cena into the searchlight. It was a cool moment that was soon ruined when I knew it meant another feud between the two.
Kane was one of my favorites. I hated when he turned into a joke in the early 2000's, but I enjoyed his 2003 run. The World Heavyweight Title reign was awesome too. I think Kane really overstayed his welcome after the Team Hell No angle came to a close.
The problem with the Big Show is that the way he is booked is either as this unstoppable monster or a silly face that is still unstoppable. Kane can be a much more versatile character and doesn't feel as though he is always there.
As terrible as Kane's gimmick is now there are at least a few moments that he entertains me, but the Big Show is unbearable to watch.

Really Kane's return and turning corporate is like patient zero for a lot of the worst things they've done storyline-wise over the last two years. For one thing it was the first signifier that nothing Bray Wyatt did would ever have a lasting or meaningful impact in storylines.

Don't worry, just another 15 years or so and they'll retire.
Then reappear as legends.

Corporate Kane is a good place to put the beginning of Kane being a Local man. Show's been that way for years, with the odd bout of being interesting again; he probably became a total local man when he started blubbering like a baby about everything.

Kane's been a shitty staple of television for a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG time though.
I mean outside of team Hell No, I have to go to like...back when WWE was WWF to come up with something entertaining he did.
Big Show usually sucks but he sucks only like 90% of the time. Kane sucks more like 99%

Kane seems to get a lot more forgiveness despite being in MUCH worse matches over time than Big Show, for the most part. Big Show/Sheamus, Big Show/Del Rio and Big Show/Henry (in 2011) produced better singles matches than basically anything Kane has ever done singles match wise. Show is an absolutely atrocious face (see the Swagger feud, Punk feud, Cody feud, Wade feud, etc) but he's a great heel when he's in put people over mode. It's rare, but it works really well at times. And his feud with Ryback right now is working surprisingly well. I don't like Show, but whatever.
Kane is just on a whole different level of awful. His matches are brutal beyond belief (his matches with Ambrose, Orton, Bryan, Cena and so many more are f***ing lifeless and were boring as all hell), he gets absolutely zero reaction and he has been going in the company for basically 18 years with this gimmick with minimal time off. Yeah Hell No was fun, but there is a reason it was fun and it sure as shit wasn't Kane.

Both have been incredibly dull for a long time. Last time I enjoyed Kane was in Team Hell No and the last time I enjoyed Big Show was when he turned on the NWO in WCW. Both guys look absolutely miserable walking to the ring these days and need to retire.

To me, their awful presentation is a big part of why seeing them on Raw is so groan worthy. Seeing Kane every week in those godawful black slacks despite being a full time wrestler just aches my soul every time. And there's Big Show wearing the same damn camo singlet he has had for about four years now.
