...and guess what's gonna happen when fall rolls around and NFL season starts. Calling it, average dips below 3 million, USA gets antsy, heads roll. I doubt it will get that low. Probably more like averaging somewhere around 3.3 - 3.5 million. I just did some basic averaging with the PWInsider data. Again, this goes back to Raw 1000 (July 23, 2012), which also was the beginning of the permanent move to three hours. I defined the "Summer Shows" as starting with the first Raw of May (except 2012, when Raw 1000 was the start), and ending the last week before the start of Monday Night Football, and compared those ratings to the shows against MNF. You get: 2012 Summer Avg (Only 7/23 until 9/3): 4.597 million (but, if you take out the outlier of Raw 1000, the average falls to 4.36) 2012 Vs MNF (9/10 - 12/17): 3.912 2013 Summer (5/6 - 9/2): 4.0355 million 2013 Vs MNF (9/9 - 12/23): 3.883 million 2014 Summer (5/5 - 9/1): 4.118 million 2014 Vs MNF (9/8 - 12/22): 3.843 million This year, since the May 4 Raw, they have averaged 3.747 million viewers. Now, that's not good - it's below what they've averaged each of the last three years when they went against MNF. But, the last three years, they've lost about 300k viewers when going up against MNF (especially when you throw out Raw 1000). If that happens again this year, that puts them at 3.447. Hence the guess of 3.3-3.5 million this year vs. MNF.

The WWE's response to that: A 25 minutes opening promo by Triple H and Stephanie Mc Mahon next week. And a 30 minute Authority beatdown to end the show.

HHH & Stephanie will save the show next week with an opening promo and show ending beatdown to Ambrose and Reigns. nah they're gonna mix it up. semi-official member when he feels like it Big Show will rejoin the Authority in a six man tag main event with Reigns, Ambrose AND Ryback. then they'll do the beat down of all three of them thing after the match.

You mean Kane in the main event isn't drawing? exactly...i mean really..how can it be a shock to anyone with 2 working brain cells that the ratings would suck when kane is in the main event for the 500th time in 2015? It's almost like they want to piss people off and turn the channel.

People don't want to tune in and see heels running roughshod over the championship. They want to tune in to see good guys winning and being badasses. More of a HHH move since Vince and his dad never did that Bingo. And you know where Hunter got that, right? From his idols.

I hope that was sarcasm, when I read this excuse, I ask "what the hell are you doing at 10 PM on a Monday night?"

Thing is, if you watch old NWA TV the Horsemen maybe did a couple of heel beatdowns a year (say one on Dusty, one on Ricky Morton). It wasn't every single week on Saturday Night that they were laying out the entire babyface roster. But the general principle behind it is fairly similar. I'd say it's more like watching the NWO beat up everyone week in, week out.

Yup, only instead of a rebellious group doing never-seen-before stuff and destroying their enemies on the regular who RARELY fought against each other on the weekly TV shows, we get seen-it-all daily soap drama, outdated comedy and stale characters/authority figures and the same wrestlers fighting each other week after week

I have thought about the NWO more and more of late and came to realize an important point. The NWO was not a heel group because they were rebellious and attacked people. They were truly heels because they were a phony rebellious group that was in reality very well connected via Bischoff to the corporate system that they were rallying against. Steve Austin was an anti establishment character. The NWO were very much part of the establishment.

Shouldn't we be in the midst of WWE's annual big summer storyline right now? It's a pretty bad sign if it's July and we're still in the post-WrestleMania hangover period.

It's almost like having a dominant heel stable with one star in his prime and a bunch of has-beens and never-wases is boring and doesn't make people want to tune in.

Chances that the entire Authority "storyline" will get the blame? HHH: Steph, the ratings are tanking again. We need to spend more time on TV. Steph: Agreed. And while we're at it, let's bury some more talent in the process. (low ratings) HHH: We're still not getting more viewers. How about a show all about the Authority? Steph: I'll talk to dad.

I hope that was sarcasm, when I read this excuse, I ask "what the hell are you doing at 10 PM on a Monday night?" I mean I was watching... but just historically people watch less tv in general in the summer, that's why there are so many re-runs, and cheaply made game shows during this time Even at its worst it's still a top rated show. However this week in general is supposed to be one of the most traveled weeks of the year, I'm sure this has some effect on people watching.Wwe could probably shake things up get a few more people to watch, but realistically this is the time of the year for bad ratings. :-\

I wonder if this rating surprises them or if it's pretty much what they're shooting for.
