Yeah I feared it was going to be on par with Piper's but it's much better. I just don't see him lasting on this long as Flair seems like the type to lose interest easily.
My one complaint is his producer/co-host, I find him a bit annoying and wish he'd be featured a little bit less. Might be a company ruling to get guys experience though as Taz's is the same way with his producer also being a somewhat co-host and both are produced by the same company.

So this is actually enjoyable?Have never listened because I thought it'd just be full of Flair rambling, putting himself over and dropping "Space Mountain" 10 times a show.

Only listened to the Foley episode, it was awesome hearing each other put over their daughters, they sounded like great friends and I really appreciated their chemistry. I also learned that Abyss tried to tell Flair to not use thumbtacks on his match against Foley....he's Ric Flair, he's in the Mount Rushmore of wrestling, you're Abyss you lost at life

I thought it was going to be a car crash podcast, but it turned out to be great. Well done Ric!

I could be projecting a bit but it seems like this could be some sort of therapy for Ric, too. He seems like the type of person that always needs to be involved in the business somehow, it seems like this could at least be a way that he could do it without putting himself in a position to really be drinking heavily...

Abyss had no right to tell Flair what he couldn't do. It's disrespectful, it's like when Matt Striker told Roddy Piper what to say in a promo, the whole locker room chewed Striker up.

I like it. I don't like his producer randomly reminding me that I'm listening to the ric Flair podcast though. Because it's not regular radio and I'm not joining in like 40 minutes in. They need to kibosh that

I am assuming this is not just him wooing for 2 hours? Because if it's not... they missed an opportunity in my opinion.

His cast is leagues better than I ever assumed it would be. He half way calls everyone out on partying to hard and swerves back to, ah don't worry...I had it worse and been divorced a hundred times!
It seems like everyone he talks to generally likes talking to him, which is adds a lot, especially for someone who has had his name dragged through the mud (deservedly so) over the last 5-10 years.

From Conrad his producer
Ric wants to do mainstream non-wrestling names, mostly from sports. CBS doesn't love that idea

Abyss was trying any excuse to get Ric Flair to not do the spot because its just sad that Ric Flair was doing that spot in TNA No as a veteran and legend Ric is allowed to structure his match as he wants. Abyss had no right to tell Flair what he couldn't do. It's disrespectful, it's like when Matt Striker told Roddy Piper what to say in a promo, the whole locker room chewed Striker up. Longevity doesn't mean he poops gold, if it were up to Ric Flair he would go out there shirtless and blade in meaningless matches until the day he dies. Abyss was a 15 year veteran in his own right, a member of the booking team if I remember correctly, so if he couldn't tell Flair not to do a stunt like that, who the heck can? He wasn't telling pre 1995 Ric Flair not to go out there and make his opponent look good, he was telling a washed up shell of a man not to do an idiotic stunt he'd regret in a match that meant nothing. If more people had the courage to tell Flair no, he would have been at home in a mansion he owns outright, enjoying the fabulous wealth he accumulated in his decades in wrestling, rather than wrestling in a soundstage in Florida in front of an audience that's praying that he'll wear a shirt. As for Striker telling Piper, he hasn't cut a great promo since the 90s, every time he gets on camera people produce threads bitching about what a mess the segment was, and while Striker wasn't the best choice, someone should have told Piper to reign it in a long time ago.

It's great. Conrad is a great co-host and it's great to hear Ric and his guests tell their stories.

Kevin Sullivan is now up.
Flair also said that the Austin/Piper thing led to Piper losing his Legends contract.
