There was no point in that "I'm going to give money to this guy" PR stunt, especially from someone who works for a company that can't even pay their OWN wrestlers. So yes. f*** TNA. So Borash on his own cannot do something nice because f*** TNA? Shit TNA has nothing to do with this but you're condemning a guy for making a charitable move because his employer is 10lbs of dick in a 3lbs bag? Why should anyone do anything nice in that case? Because I don't believe that it's not a TNA stunt. This is the company that jumps at any opportunity for PR. If it's just Borash acting on his own, fine. Even still, just do it, don't announce it.

That ignored the point of mentioning the paralyzed wrestler though, to show Dana that it isn't fake. The whole thing is a positive for the paralyzed guy and to stick it to Dana for calling wrestling fake.

It's not a PR stunt. He's announcing it to send a message to Dana White that 1.) wrestling isn't fake because people do get hurt or in this performer's case, crippled by it and 2.) UFC isn't getting his money tonight because Dana disrespected pro wrestling.

Wait until that chick that is his biggest draw bolts for fake wrestling and sells half a million Network subs by herself. When Rousey is in WWE she will be every bit as big a deal as Lesnar. (as long as Vince handles it right) If there's anywhere she's gonna bolt to. It's the movies. For some reason people are casting her in a ton of stuff despite not showing the tiniest bit of charisma or acting talent. She's far too popular to jump to something like a declining in popularity pro wrestling gig full time.

That doesn't really mean wrestling is real, just physical and extremely risky. Again, the "fake" part comes from the results and the fact that they're not trying to hurt eachother. Borash didn't prove any kind of point to me, and I'm sure the event wont suffer without his money.

Why do we care about what Dana White thinks about wrestling?

There was no reason for it and it just showed you haven't paid any attention to the thread.

Why do we care about what Dana White thinks about wrestling? Bluntly, because I'm tired of douchebags in Tapout shirts who think they know what the f*** a kimura is because they saw BJ Penn do it once tell me to "Grow up and watch REAL fighting, don't you know that shit's fake?". And if Dana White has to become their douchebag avatar in this instance, so be it.

I don't get what people are so upset about. Wrestling is fake, just like Breaking Bad is fake, just like The Walking Dead is fake. It's scripted.
And the logic of "Well I busted my nose once so tell me it's fake!" Is pretty baffling to me. Those injuries aren't supposed to happen. They're accidents. Your opponent in wrestling is supposed to protect you. So yes, it's FAKE.

I don't know for sure, neither do you, I'm just going by their extremely shady track record. I'm done talking about this because it's going nowhere.

I wouldn't called pro wrestling fake, because these wrestlers who put there bodies on the line for my entertainment find it insulting, so unless I'm a giant prick, I won't refer to it as such.

When people tell me "wrestling is fake", I say, "no shit". It doesn't offend me at all. Wrestling is fake as hell, and everybody who is mad at Dana needs to get over themselves.

Pro wrestling tried to keep kayfabe for like 200 years. TV shows don't do that. That's why pro wrestling gets called fake. Who cares.

Why are these wrestlers deliberately misconstruing what he said? Everyone knows what he meant.

Let's be honest, a LOT of MMA fans that aren't outright fans of both like a lot of us here are lapsed wrestling fans. That's where MANY of those that bailed post Attitude Era went. So they know the deal just as much as dyed in the wool wrestling fans do.

Yeah, wrestling's fake. But so is everything else including big parts of UFC. It's not like anyone saying it is making some sage point. Dana should have left it at that, he's not really achieving anything by continuing to hammer his point down.

Fake has a certain unfavourable connotation to it that staged or scripted doesn't.
It's like that it's all a big con (and for years, it was) and the wrestlers involved are more grifters than they are athletes and entertainers.
I don't think Dana meant anything terribly malicious, but I can see why people are taking umbrage.

Seriously, though. I have no problem with it being called fake in certain instances. However, the offensive part for me as a fan is when people feel the need to mention it as if they're letting me in on a secret. Or when they say it to make it clear that wrestling is only enjoyed by inferior mouth-breathers. It just makes them look smug.
