1. Pay off my car 2. Put 90% of it in a bank account that would get the best interest 3. Divide what's left in two. One half goes toward throwing a party for me mates, the other goes to a good cause of some sort.

Probably just pay off bills and save the rest. I wouldn't mind treating myself to something nice since $150,000 is a lot of money, but one "something nice" can easily turn to two, and then before you know it, it's gone.

Put some down on a house, buy a new truck, and split the rest between various reasonably safe investments, like money markets and my department's deferred compensation program.
